Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Insta-View door I love my new fridge. The Insta-View door is great for storing frequently used items. I like that tall bottles fit in the door and the dual access. I like the shelves on the other door for storing other items. The freezer is large and fits a lot of food. I like the smallest drawer for keeping small items that often get lost in the freezer. I'm glad that there is a reminder on the control panel to change the water filter. The black stainless resists finger prints and smudges. The capacity of the ice maker could be a little larger. You have to be careful where you place items on the bottom shelf in front of the insta-view door it can cause the insta-view door to open when close the main door. Not much room in the main fridge to store tall items. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Features!! This is a great refrigerator! The black stainless steel is essentially a smoky charcoal grey which is a nice change from the standard stainless steel. One of the nicest touches is the control panel on the front door which is illuminated so that you can see and adjust the settings with ease. One of our favorite features is the water dispenser, which allows filling any size water bottle or glass because of the location of the dispenser. No more filling water bottles or glass from an angle and spilling water all over the floor. The ice dispenser provides the perfect amount of ice with one push. Our athlete daughter really enjoys the door in door feature because she can see and access her sport drinks without opening the refrigerator. It’s also great for easy reach of daily use items. The absolute highlight of this refrigerator is the lighting system. With lights running along the top and on the sides of the refrigerator, everything is visible and easier to find. Dividing the compartments for fruits and vegetables into 3 separate compartments also helps increase visibility of item in the refrigerator. It allows for better organization and increased storage of food. The compartments in the freezer are also very helpful. There are 3 tiers in the freezer which allows for better organization of frozen foods. The compartments can also be customized to suit our storage needs. The only aspect of the refrigerator we did not get to use is the Smart App function. The app is not available for download on non-android products. This is unfortunate as we were anxious to use the Smart App features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing New Sleek & Stylish Fridge We are really excited about our new LG refrigerator. This particular model is the LFXS30796D 30 cubic foot InstaView Door-in-Door Refrigerator. First, the new black stainless steel looks great in our kitchen. It is also advertised as fingerprint and smudge resistant. We haven’t had it long, but we’ve seen a huge improvement in this area. As with most young families, our prior stainless steel refrigerator was constantly covered with little kid fingerprints. The ice dispenser does both cubed and crushed ice. The water dispenser is located above. This seemed a little unusual at first, but it is actually pretty helpful in that you can use the water dispenser to fill up any size container. A lot of models have trouble with large pitchers if they won’t fit in the dispenser’s inset. Also on the outside is this model’s featured door-in-door. We’ve put our most common refrigerated items here. While the glass is normally dark, you can illuminate the door by knocking twice on the glass. You can then open the door by using the small button on the handle. The idea behind this door is pretty cool – you can quickly get to your frequently used items without opening up the entire fridge and letting out a lot of the cold air. The layout inside of the fridge is nice and there is plenty of room, which is great. The fridge is actually deep enough for one of those super-sized Costco pizza boxes. There are three deep drawers that sit on top of one wide shallow drawer. We are still working through the best way for us to utilize the drawer space. The shallow drawer actually has three settings – meat, deli and produce. The freezer area is also spacious. There is a sizeable pull out drawer, a slender drawer and a deep bin for your larger items. We’ve been very pleased with the freezer, as it seems to be laid out better than our previous fridge. In summary, this refrigerator has a lot of great features. A couple of items not previously mentioned are its internal air filter and a water filter. There are also digital temperature controls for the fridge and freezer. The layout and design of the fridge and freezer areas are both very good. The primary items that really make it special in my opinion are the smudge resistant black stainless steel and the door-in-door. So far, we are incredibly pleased! Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish and Quiet I was chosen by LG to review the LFXS30796 30 cu. ft. InstaView Door-in-Door Black Stainless Steel Refrigerator. I must admit my wife was not as excited as I was to take advantage of this opportunity. Mainly because our existing refrigerator was only 3 years old, and was Bright Stainless Steel, like our LG stove and LG microwave. After an issue with the delivery of the refrigerator, I had to remove my existing refrigerator myself and bring the new LG in as the delivery men were reluctant to remove the doors on either refrigerator because of the in- the- door water and ice dispenser and all the electronics associated with them, as I also was at first. But with a little research I removed the doors from both units and with a little help from my friends we managed to swap the refrigerators out. The instructions for the door removal were with the new LG unit and were easy to follow, the electrical connections were easy to unplug and plugin, I did have one slight problem, a couple of the wires came out of one of the connectors on the right door, but I managed to correctly reinsert them and connect the wire harnesses. We have been using the LG Door-in-Door Dark Stainless Steel Refrigerator for about one week now and are enjoying the features of the Door-in-Door. This feature is very handy to access those items we use on a daily basis such as milk, butter, salad dressings etc. The InstaView feature that turns the interior lights on by tapping on the glass is very convenient; it allows you to see what is inside without opening the door. That way you can search for that special snack that is never there, without holding the door open for minutes at a time until you realize there is nothing in there to snack on. The control panel on the left door is convenient and easy to use to set the temperatures in the main refrigerator compartment and the freezer compartment, the in the door Ice and water are convenient and easy to use. The dark stainless finish on the doors is very nice and it does seem to be more resistant to finger prints than the bright stainless finish. The interior of the refrigerator is set up to be very user friendly, with adjustable shelves that lock together. I did notice that the folding shelf is slightly warped on one end but it does not interfere with its operation. The Glide N Access makes it easy to reach those items in the back of the fridge. I also like the feature for the Glide N Serve Drawer that provides a variable temperature from the rest of the fridge. Interior lighting is very good. The LG operates super quiet, you can barely hear it running, my previous refrigerator made a lot of strange noises at various times. The Door-In-Door is a very useful feature as is the in-door ice and water, but I really liked the measure water fill feature on my previous refrigerator. This may be something to consider on future models. I found that the storage bins on the inside of the left door are a little shallow for some items like an 18oz jelly jar, but there is plenty of room in the right door storage for larger items. The storage drawers are a little shorter than the drawers in our previous refrigerator making it a little difficult to store items such as celery stalks. The drawers are easy to remove for cleaning except for the one on the right side it cannot be removed unless you remove the storage bin in the right door which can be easily lifted out. I do like the Ice maker being totally concealed inside of the left door. On our previous refrigerator the ice maker was in the top of the refrigerator and the ice was transferred to the storage bin in the door this caused a few dripping issues at the seal between the door and the main compartment. I also found the fresh air filter cover difficult to remove. The water filter is conveniently located and easy to replace. The LG LFXS30796 also comes with a Smart Feature that allows you to connect your refrigerator to your Android smart phone which allows you to monitor and set various options on the refrigerator from your phone. You can also register with your electric provider to use the Smart Grid Function to control energy usage or delay the operation of some functions to save energy during peak usage periods. To be honest I’m not sure this feature is something very many people will find necessary or will use. Over all, my wife and I both really like the LG LFXS30796 refrigerator. But now my wife says she wants a new range and microwave in dark stainless.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
