Rated 1 out of 5 by Angeline Disappointed with the quality
I was very excited when i saw this item from M&D online. Hence, i quickly go and hunt around trying to get it. As i am not staying in US/Canada, finaly i found one shop seling M&D product in Singapore. and i purchased a lot of M&D items for my 3 y.o. And this Spelling one is my favirate. However, when i opened up the box and clean the letters, i noticed that there are some thorns on the wood letters, which could hurt my little girls' fingers. So i was trying to trim it away. However, when i found out that nearly more than 30 leters are having the same issue, and some letters have a few places with the thorns. I gave up. I was so diaspointed that i could not give this to my little girl to play and learn since it is going to hurt her hands/fingers. So in the end, i have to go back to the shop to exchange to return. But the shop owner refused to exchange/return for me. Reason being that wood products are all like that, and it is normal to have thorns. THis is totally unreasonable, and what an exerience for my fist M&D item purchasing -- Disappointing...

Rated 5 out of 5 by God is Great! The product is wonderful and it allows the children to learn
The children are able to spell the word and look at the picture and also learn the letters. It is a multipurpose learning tool. The children are having fun while playing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GrandmaLuvsU The Melissa See and Spell is a must for three year olds and up.
I was amazed at the independent learning that took place with my three year old grandson. He was saying his letters, naming the pictures, and saying his colors all by himself. To me, this gift was priceless. I especially loved the compartment box that made cleanup time quick, unlike other puzzles that have to be put together before storing. What prompted me to buy this particular gift was that my grandson had a letter puzzle that spelled his name. Seeing that he found it fun spelling his name, I thought this would be the next step up. I'm glad I did. I also like the fact that he is getting the consonant-vowel-consonant pattern practice. When he goes to school someday, it will all make perfect sense!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kate Perfect letter toy!
I love this toy! I have 3 kids..... 3, 6, 7 and all have benefitted from it. Our middle child is cognitively delayed and loves the toy also. It helps with fine motor skills, color identification, and letter recognition. Highly recommended. I've also given it as a gift to my niece heading into kindergarten next year.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LA Gramma Good idea; poor product support
This would have been a promising toy/learning material if there were any product support for it. As it is, the letters are not terribly sturdy and we've lost pieces to a chewing pet and, well, just getting lost. Meanwhile, Melissa & Doug doesn't offer replacement parts and doesn't have any plans to. The person I spoke to was unsympathetic to the whole issue. So, essentially, you should consider this either a disposable item or a source of frustration for a curious child who wants to spell with missing letters. M&D didn't even answer 2 written requests for them and I only was able to get an answer by phoning.
