Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great shoe, bad fit I love New Balance. I think their products are great. I have been getting this brand (in conjunction of others) for about 8-10 years. I think they fit well, fell great, are comfortable, hold up well (one pair lasted 5.5 years with continuous, rigorous use), and are quite stylish. When I saw this pair, I asked for them as a gift. I said I was a 9.5 D. I always am in these shoes. I put them on and I thought they were great! After a couple days, I noticed I started getting blisters on my toes. I also noticed my feet were tingling and felt pinched. Later, I started to get pinched nerves and felt tingling in my arms, chest, and legs. Clearly, these shoes were WAY too tight! I went to Penneys to try on others of the same size. I thought that mine were a fluke. I tried other 9.5 Ds and they were also very tight. I tried a 9.5 4E, but I was swimming in it. I purcahsed a size 10 D, thinking this would work. It didn't. They fell off my feet, but were STILL too tight! Today I tried on almost every size I thought might fit, and I finally settled on a size 9 4E. It's smaller, but bigger. I noticed these run small. If you look at the toe part, you'll see it narrows to more of a point than their other shoes. I'm HOPING that these 9 4Es fit and work for me because I really like these shoes and I don't want to pass on them. Yes, these run small. Be careful. They're great, but the sizing and fit is not. I really didn't like having to go through so much effort to find the right fit, and I'm really hoping I've found it. If this isn't it, I'll just get a different pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sole Unglue I bought several NB shoes. The shoes are great and comfortable but the sole start to unglue after a few months (average 3 to 4 month) This never happens before. NB must check process or manufacturer,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband LOVES these shoes! He works in home construction and swears they have the best support. JCP.com is the only place I can get them and he is addicted. Do I like them? NO...they are white and get dirty quickly and frankly I think they look nerdy. But he LOVES them! I have attached a photo of Dean working on a new home...zoom in on those feet...he wears his NB's ALL the time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good support My husband loves New Balance shoes. He is in construction and spends lots of time on roofs. They support his feet well and give him all day comfort. Only shoes I buy for him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets or beats expectations. I work on my feet all day and need something durable and comfortable. These New Balance shoes are better than expected. They fit perfectly. They broke in right away without any discomfort from the first day. After a month, they feel even better. I highly recommend these and will be getting another pair for myself.

Is your extra wide considered a 2E?

Asked by: John
No, usually when it states Extra Wide, they really mean 4E, and it should state which it is on line. HOWEVER, I wear an 1l.5, 4E, and have been trying to find a new pair of NB's to wear. I like the old ones I have(2 pair), and have worn them for several years, including this particular style shoe. However, I now find that even when they are labelled 4E, in many, many of their styles, it is now more closely akin to a 2E. So, I would have labelled the customer response that said, "you can't really tell until you wear them", as the Best Answer, rather than strictly saying they are a 4E. They may or may not be, even if they are labelled that. You cannot rely on labeling of shoe sizes any longer, since there is apparently not as strict quality control in the plants which are now all overseas. Nike brand was made in the US, but they have moved now. I do not think any athletic shoes are made here, any longer. You have to also watch out for whether they still really do have "leather uppers". Most of the ones that do, are labelled so inside the shoe, those that are synthetic, do not label them either way, unless there is a mixture of mesh, which is obviously a synthetic material. However, on line sites continue to label the shoe styles as leather if that is what they have previously been.
