Rated 4 out of 5 by from This curtain rod is of basically good, useable quality - with small wants. My first critique relates to the part that attaches to the wall: It will not rest securely against the wall no matter how tightly I apply the screws (which do screw into wooden beams). However it feels more solidly attached once the rod is fully in place, probably because the weight of the rod is resting mostly toward the bottom of the wall part.. Secondly, for such a long rod, I would appreciate a second central support. Luckily the curtains I've put up are VERY light. Even so, when I put them up prior hemming them, they definitely added a small dip between each end and the central support. I had wanted to add another fabric for more temperature control - both frigid and hot outdoor temps - but without a central support between ends and centers, or at least one additional support dividing the rod essentially in thirds for support, I don't believe I can add fabric.

Does the hardware include something to stabilize the rod in the middle?

No, this does not have any support structure for the middle of the rod.

if I use this rod with a grommet panel, would I have to unscrew the intire rod from the wall to take them off for washing?

Asked by: Tina
No the rod slides into a slot that is screwed to wall. Very easy to remove.
