Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pants, but not perfect These pants fit great once you find the right size, but it's tough for me to find the right size combination - I need both Big AND Tall pants, but these ones tend to cater to the "either/or" guys - especially when you see them in the actual store. The waist also tends to run slightly small - for example, a size 48 waist usually feels more like a 47 or even a 46.5, even with the built-in elastic - so be ready to order a size larger than you usually wear. That said, when I do find these pants with the right size combination, I love them! First, these pants are SIMPLE to take care of - just wash, dry, and wear. I've never needed to worry about wrinkles, shrinking, or minor stains with these pants, even after owning the same pair for about a year. Second, the fabric is VERY lightweight and breathable - great for an active job with a semi-professional dress code (for example, I'm a high school teacher) - but they also are not the warmest pants, so they can feel a bit chilly if you spend your days sitting at a desk in a drafty building. Other than the sizing difficulties, I would definitely order more pairs of these pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally!!! Finally, pants that fit AND are comfortable!!!! Unlike most dress pants that I tried on in higher end men's stores, these pants don't feel like the crotch is hanging down by my knees!!!! JCPenney's used to have a very nice Big and Tall section in the store, wish they'd bring that back. Also, what happened to these pants in Navy? It's been out of stock for a couple of months, PLEASE bring back Navy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warning: Inseam Is 4 Inches Longer Than Listed Warning: The maker of these pants makes the crotch area so long that you get an additional 4 inches in length to the inseam. Now I have to either return the pants or go to the trouble and expense of finding a place that will raise the inseam. I will never purchase this brand again. *This issue was found on pants by both Haggar and Van Heusen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the fabric These are great pants and wear very well. Nice to be able to wash and wear. The inseam does seem long. Had to order and inch shorter than usual. The price is rough unless you get them on sale. Had to put button for my husband when the clip broke.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pants, when they're on Sale These pants fit great, don't show dirt, and feel comfortable. The list price of $XX.XX means I can only buy when there's a sale, but I have several pairs which I cycle through the week. The elastic stretch band is not a weak point - it's never failed on me. Eventually, after a couple of years, the seams start to give way. Usually, it' the side seam under the pocket, that's a relatively easy fix. I've also had the crotch seams pop; by that time, the pants were so worn anyway, I just trashed them. The other weak point is the front hook/eye used to button the pants. That little tab just gets worn out holding the pants shut, and I've had 2 pairs essentially fail when the metal of the hook snapped. Again, though, that was after several years of stress. I'd rather they had used a button, which I could re-sew, rather than the hook / eye fastener, which seems to be integral to the design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good features, but sizing is off. Pants were of quality and features expected, except that the waist size was on the skimpy side of a good fit. The pants material is much lighter in weight than I expected ... not necessarily good or bad ... just saying ... as they may be more tear more easily if snagged on a sharp edge or hook in a chair, etc. (Us Big & Tall guys know that stuff like that happens! LOL) As a big & tall person, I look for clothing that I can rely on the manufactures accuracy as to coming in the sizes stated (when I compare them to other brands of the same size). The inseams on these pants are generous in length, the legs are full in width to accommodate those of a full-back football player's thighs and calves, but the waist is probably two (2) inches smaller than stated. So, if one needs, say a 42" waist, best order a 44", etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice pants. Look great, wear well, last long. Very satisfied with this product! Pants fit well, wear well, and hold new appearence for a long time. Wear for work so they have been worn a lot before showing signs of wear.

What is the Overall Fit? runs small or runs large

Overall Fit and then it shows the bar with red dot between runs small and runs large. Please indicate what it means and how to determine which will be right fit to order? Thanks
Asked by: John
In my experience, these pants tend to run a bit small in the waist. For example, I typically wear a size 48 waist - but the 48's in these pants tend to feel more like a 46 or 47, even with the expanding waistline. If I order a size 50 waist, they end being a perfect fit, so my suggestion is to order a size larger than you would normally wear. Length is usually true-to-form in my experience.
