Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as expected - not soft & smooth They felt wonderful UNTIL I washed them. I followed the washing instruction carefully - but now they are coarse feeling & quite rough. VERY disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So soft! Have only washed 3 times but so far no pilling. Sheets are soft, fit the bed well and elastic is good on the fitted sheet. Would buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable sheets I bought four sets, two in Ivory and two in Sage. They are extremely comfortable to sleep on. The colors are excellent and match those shown in the photographs on the web site very closely. Before washing, the sheets had a glossy appearance and a slightly waxy feel. The waxy feel disappeared after the first wash and the gloss was much less than prior to washing. The fitted sheet fits comfortably and easily on a mattress 13" in depth but could be a little small for a much deeper mattress. The top sheets after washing on the cold delicate cycle are somewhat narrow from side to side so that they cannot easily be tucked in if you prefer it that way. These sheets are not wrinkle free, but the amount of wrinkling after washing is slight and should not be a problem unless you hate any wrinkles at all. I'm very pleased with the purchase and like that these sheets were made in the USA!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, the perfect sheets! SOFT, generously sized!! We currently own and use two sets, and we will buy a third set soon! After TWO YEARS of researching thread counts, cottons, and weaves, visiting every store in the metro area and miles beyond, and ordering online (only to be disappointed)... we finally found these. We LOVE them!!!! SIZE: It's very hard to find truly DEEP pocket sheets that actually fit with NO wrestling! These beautifully fit our king pillowtop bed with 4" orthopedic topper, and they don't come off the corners while we sleep! BONUS: The flat (top) sheet is oversized too, so it drapes generously over our very high mattress. That makes perfect sense with deep pocket sheets! They fit well together with our oversized king quilt bedspread. FEEL: I have chronic pain with many advancing disabilities and spend much of my time in bed, so I have to be very picky. These are the only sheets I will allow to touch my skin - they're that soft! We follow care instructions EXACTLY, and they are soft and smooth. The 100% cotton 500 thread count is luxurious (it doesn't make much difference after 500), and they are very soft in a sateen, slightly crisp way. I prefer a jersey cotton-like feel, but hubby prefers crisp and cool. These are perfect sheets because they are soft and snuggly for me without overheating him. Note: It seems lighter colors are softest when dealing with sheets/bedding, and dark colors can be rough. We have ivory and sage green sets, and plan to buy another ivory set. VALUE: Yes, they're a little pricey, but we got both sets from JCP during big sales, so we got good value (especially compared to all the overpriced, inflated thread counts out there!). They launder very nicely without shrinkage and they don't pill AT ALL (dealbreaker for us!). They are American made and after several washings, they are like new and true to size. We are VERY HAPPY with these soft, generously-sized sheets and highly recommend them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Exceptionally Poor Construction & Rough I sew, and I know my material. And I've purchased cotton sateen sheets with a minimum of 500 tc for years. They are my very favorite for several reasons: a true sateen sheet will truly look and feel like silk; yet they have the luxury and durability of cotton which breathes well on the skin and lasts forever. They are like wine which ripens with age: the more you use them, the softer they become. A sateen cotton weave will (and never should) pill. And it does not wrinkle easily. It's very resistant to wrinkling. All these qualities make the cotton sateen sheet the most desirable sheet made. And it's hard to find a manufacturer that knows how to make them. My last set of cotton sateen was purchased from JC Penney in 1998, and they were absolutely EXCELLENT. They are now 16 years old. They were the JC Penney Home Collection and have been washed more than weekly. I stil have them TODAY, and they are still in excellent condition. No stitching frays or anything, and the colors have held up beautifully! This is extraordinarily impressive quality. They were as soft as silk coming straight out of the package, and they have been as SOFT AS SILK ever since!!! With that being said, when I purchased a new bed, I decided to purchase new cotton sateen sheets, and Veratex seemed to be the only option, especially for my color scheme. The moment I took them out of the package I was hugely disappointed!!! Here's why: the construction was very poor and they were rough. And the color was not correct either. I ordered red, and it was actually the color of brick or rust, which is not at all what I wanted. #1. STITCHING / CONSTRUCTION: The stitching was serged. This is absolutely NOT OKAY!!!! Anything serged is poor construction period. Serging is to be a supportive seam; not the main seamline. Serged stitching is not considered a strong stitch. This in itself spoke volumes to me about the construction, as serged hems can be done with extraordinary ease and speed. And to add to this, the hems were fraying coming out of the bag, the stitching was BRIGHT WHITE and did not match the material at all, and the elastic was bare!!! A good sheet will ALWAYS have the elastic wrap-sewn into the cotton hem. You should NEVER see bare elastic on a sheet!!! ANY QUALITY PRODUCT WILL NEVER REVEAL ELASTIC!!! Also, the stitching on the flat hems was puckering; so the tension was obviously not set right for the material. #2. ROUGH MATERIAL: The cotton thread count may have been correct, as the sheets were heavy enough. However, they were rough, so the quality of cotton was not appropriate either. Needless to say, I did not bother washing them. I returned them straight away! And I'll NEVER buy a Veratex product again. These are not cheap sheets for the price--but they should be. I absolutely would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Save your money and keep looking. Quality cotton sateen sheets are indeed HARD TO FIND.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Sheets Ever I wanted these sheets from JCPenney because I bought a pair a few years back and they were my absolute favorite. However, these sheets are the worst sheets ever! The weren't cheap and they are not soft at all, cardboard would be softer and they are the most wrinkled sheets ever, I even tried to iron them and that didn't help much. I am very unhappy with this purchase from JCPenney!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Happy To Get This Delivery !! Quality comfy sheets are expensive. Not usually a luxury we can afford. When I saw the seasonal sale flyer with the additional 25% off (using my JCPenney credit card), I begged my husband to let me buy these sheets (we had received a set when we were married a few years ago & I simply love them). I received my new sheets two days ago, washed them yesterday & hung them on the line.... when my husband climbed into bed after his long hard days work, he was so appreciative of the quality and comfort (not something he usually pays attention to) and slept very soundly. I did notice some loose threads on the side seams but it is not something I can't take care of before it becomes a problem.
