COLOR
Rated 1 out of 5 by extra pillow cases do not color match The extra standard pillow cases do not color match the sheet set for the "blue" color choice. March 18, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not as expected I ordered these online and received them packaged in a box. The sheets themselves were wrapped in a plastic bag (not a nice thick plastic zippered package like most sheets). This was highly disappointing, I wouldn't even expect that from bargain bin sheets much less premium sheets. The sage color was much lighter than I expected, more the color you would use for a nursery. March 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not quite as soft as expected Time will tell on the wear-ability of these. Color and feel matches extra standard pillow cases ordered on Taupe set. Not so with Sage set (see pillow case review). Previous reviewers noted it took several washing's to soften. I'm not sure about that, obviously the higher thread count the softer. My previous were 800 count and soft from the package. They fit well and will hopefully serve our needs. April 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Back on track This sheet set is beautiful...just what I was looking for. I used to buy this set under a different name from JCPenny before they went through their company change. I am buying from them again as I feel the quality is back. These sheets are crisp and white, no pilling. They do get a bit wrinkled right out of the dryer but if folded immediately, they look great. Rated 1 out of 5 by Too thin For the price I paid, I expected to receive a better sheet! I am like one of the previous reviewers who asked about the Carol Madden sheets. Those were the best I've ever had. Very high quality, comfortable sheets that don't wrinkle under you. Please bring those back, or at least something comparable! I am returning these today! Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks Great, Feels Great I use these pillowcases (and the matching sheets) year-round. Not too hot, not too cold; they keep me feeling just right! The pillowcases in particular also keep my hair healthy -- no breakage like with poorer quality pillowcases. I love the rich color too, though I do recommend washing with a gentle detergent or one that prevents fading. Overall, a great buy! March 4, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what I expected First of all, my color selection was "taupe"; and this is what I would call "tan," but the color is fine. I expected the fabric to be more firm and heavy like some other 500tc sheets I purchased online from JCP a few months ago. I have washed but not used these new sheets yet, but I am disappointed in the flimsy texture of them. It is hard to know exactly what you are going to get even after reading customer reviews and product descriptions. I appreciate they are made in the U.S., but the materials are imported. I wonder if cotton is grown in the U.S. anymore. December 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheets are not just sheets when they are 100% Egyptian Cotton I thought sheets were just sheets and would not have bought them had JCP not provide a sample to touch in the Home Department. The sample was incredible to touch, and when I received mine, they have enhanced my sleeping. The sheets create warmth, but also provide coolness. It is hard to explain, I just know this will not be my last set of sheets, as American Heritage has many colors. I got them for an excellent sale price also. January 24, 2016

Answer:
Egyptian cotton is a longer fiber, so the weave is tighter and smoother, which should result in no piling.
Most piling occurs as a result of friction or rubbing against the sheet.
