Rated 5 out of 5 by Razor Excellent replacemet
We purchased this as a replacement for a traditional blade fan. We were very surprised to see that it generated a strong air flow and covered a large area.

Always been a big fan "pun intended" of Vornado products because of one blower and one heavy duty shop fan that I had purchased years ago for my garage and are still running quite well. Wanted to get another air circulator for my new workshop/office and thought I'd try one of their more sophisticated in-door fans and was quite disappointed with this "Large Tower Air Circulator" which didn't seem to circulate much air at all. The highest "TURBO" setting I would consider to be medium-low on my fan "power-level" personal range, the other settings aren't even worth going to unless you like having the twinkling blue LED lights on because that's the only thing that will indicate that you even have the unit on at all because the fan isn't going to be doing anything much at all.
Going to return this and get a proper room circulator like the 733. Miss the heavy duty looking models like the one I have for my garage which has a heavy duty metal tubing stand/frame holder.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LaEngineer Great Airflow / Very Loud
I have been a Vorando owner for years now. I have always acquired the whole room circulators similar to the current 773 model. I have never had problems with them, they are very effective and most importantly, on lower speeds are very quiet. They are also very well made and stand up to many years of use. I then bought the new full-size tower circulator, model 184, recently for a new small conference room we have here at work. It also is very effective in airflow, but is loud. Even on low speed it rattles like cheap plastic, which basically is what it is made of. It does not feel heavy duty like the other models I mentioned. I cannot use this in the small conference room, especially when customers are in there with our engineering staff. I would NOT recommend the full-size tower to anyone who wants to have a quiet operating unit. Get the current model 773 instead. Our Model 184 is now relegated to the waiting room, but still only on low speeds. First time I have ever been disappointed in a Vornado product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CARDIONNE1 Operation and Customer support.
I have had the Mod. 184 for over 9 months. I have a older home which uses window a/c's in summer and a central, non blower type gas heater in winter. The 184 has been an amazement. From day one of use, it circulated the AC air extremely well and yes, lowered the temp in the living room thru its air circulation In winter usage it circulated the heated air around the living room to the point where we had to turn down the thermostat. And this with the thermostat originally set at 78 F. Just recently the remote control on the 184 would not operate. After a battery change and still no response, I contacted Vornado Customer Service and asked for price and delivery on a new remote. I expected a response in 2-3 days. Instead, I got a response in less than 3 hours in which I was informed my unit was still under a 5 year warranty and a new remote would be sent out immediately. One and a half days later I received the remote. Incredible product. Incredible service. Now you know what I own 4 Vornado products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Computerslayer An awesome fan to top all others
I've never spent so much on a fan before - perhaps the one downside. My first of these was because it was the only one in the store during a hot summer. I figured it wouldn't be a thing to return it if it turned out to be a waste. Instead, it has been the best fan I've ever used! It moves a very large volume of air and does so in a handy 'V' without oscillation. Since then I've bought two more and heartily recommend it to anyone looking for the best. Its not a super-quiet fan. I don't think it's reasonable to expect that though, given the amount of air it moves. Of course it's more quiet on the lower speeds, but louder when faster. A note of advice as you unpack the fan. The remote is a neat little circular bit that magnetically attaches neatly to the top of the fan. The problem I had with my first one is that it is just small enough to completely miss....and throw away altogether! Vornado was kind enough to replace the remote free of charge - but that can be avoided with attentiveness before discarding the packaging!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Drew89156 Wow Product
This was one of my best buys. I live in an upstairs apartment in the desert. My apartment faces directly east, so I am in direct light from 6am to about 4pm. As quaint as it might sound, under 110 degree summer days--it tends to be unbearable (especially since my apartment is upstairs, and heat rises). I bought two oscillating fans, and a ceiling fan (so my energy bill from using my a/c wouldn't be over $200 again). Turns out they really didnt help. I bought heavy drapes, and still didnt work. My only other option was to board up the windows with 2in foam insulation. I was dreading doing the insulation because I didnt want my apartment to look sketchy; but I was willing to take the risk. I was at a home improvement store walking around, and seen a customer with the Vornado tower fan in their cart. I asked her about it, and she said that it was the second one she bought. Not because it didnt deliver the job, but because she loved it so much, but so she can have one downstairs as well. So I ended up buying this instead of the insulation. I was so glad that I did! The assembly was simple, the design is so sleek, and the power of it completely replaced all three fans I previously bought. I have it in the corner of my living room, and if I leave my bedroom door open, I can feel the air flow coming in or vice versa. This one fan replaced the $400+ fans I had invested in. Buy this fan. Great bang for your buck.

I use the product personally in one room. It looks amazing but it doesn't work as it says. only blows in one direction.(an oscillation would work better). I have another fan that has around 2 times the power for under 2 times the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by hot in texas really helps in the garage in Texas
postitioned the tower to cover a wide area in the garage. Once circulation is established (bout a minute) cooling is very nice. Really like not having the back and forth of an oscillating fan. Only problem is the REMOTE, and I use that term loosely, the first remote worked only within 2.5 feet, Vornado set a replacement that only works withiin 1.5 feet of the unit. Working with Vornado to get a real remote. At high speed its a little load, but it sets 10 feet away so not bad, plus it is usually set on speeds 1 and 2 which are great. If the remote problem gets resolved highly recommend it.
