Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy I researched and researched before making the purchase as it is fairly expensive. I have used cheap heaters around the house and at work, and would not feel safe with any other heater I've owned in my babies room. The Vornado is awesome! I would totally recommend. I am a little unsure about leaving it on overnight as with any heater. However if I were to leave any heater on at night I would feel the safest with the Vornado. My son is 7mo and his room seems to stay cold all the time. Does Vornado suggest Turing the heater off over night or should I feel safe? i see previous comments about the inconsistency in the heat flow and it not turning back on. I have not have any problems with the temperature. Seems to heat very steady and is not hot when you touch the Vornado.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best mini heater on the market! I use this heater every single day! My toddlers love to sit near it after bath time and warm up and relax! I absolutely love that I can set the heater to low or high, set the preferred temperature and trust that it will shut off after it has reached that temperature. In addition to that, it has a 'fan only' option that we can use as well when it's too warm in the house. I have noticed how sensitive it is to movement, for example, when I have bumped it or tried to reposition it, the heater automatically shuts off. My youngest son likes to play with everything and I have noticed that when he has tried to tip it over or move it, it shuts itself off. I have complete trust that my baby boy will not be harmed or that the heater will overheat. I also love how it looks. I love the muted colors and the bright display. It is very easy to use - the different icons and color of the screen make it fool-proof. And the fact that the cord is easily hidden underneath the base is just an added bonus!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, but not that great. We recently bought this little heater and while it is nice, it also has some flaws. With even the slightest tip, even while I'm setting the controls, it shuts off, making it kind of difficult to do. When you turn it back on it doesn't return to the same settings (even if the settings were locked), which is kind of annoying. Once the temp is set it will heat the room to within a degree or so, even according to its own temp reading, which is not entirely accurate, not the temp I set. I'm looking for a different, more accurate, easier to use, less expensive heater so that I can possibly return this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worried Initially I LOVED this heater. My sons room is upstairs in our cape house so it's not well insulated. This heater started off providing a gentle warm heat and my son slept great. Tonight I go up to tuck him in bed and his room is chilly. I walk over to check the heater and it's off and won't turn back on? I had to unplug it a few times and it finally turned back on but I'm worried now it's going to shut off and he'll wake up cold tonight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vorndaful!! Super Quiet, Excellent Warmth. Wow... A lot of thought was put into the design of this unit. Pros for toddlers crawling around: - The air gets hot, but the case stays fairly cool - the cord is concealed under the unit behind a nice heavy flexible plastic guard so you can bring out just enough cord - an automatic lock covers the power button whenever the unit is turned off - a kill switch shuts the unit off if it is tipped over, but it does not have an audible alarm - if the intake is covered by something, and the unit overheats, it shuts itself off I was trying to think of why this heater wouldn't just work for EVERYONE, not just babies or in a nursery. I couldn't think of a reason why not. It does have a soft pastel color design, but that's it. My dad asked if it rotated (it doesn't), but when I started thinking about it, many portable heaters do not rotate. Not sure why, but the fan has two settings and seemed to warm the room fairly quickly. I really can't say anything bad about this unit. It feels nice and durable, and seems to be made of high quality pieces.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Couple deal breaker flaws I really wanted to love this heater with all of its great features. However, after using it there are a couple flaws that I'm afraid are making this unit unusable for us. First is the display light. There is not an option to turn this light off and in our otherwise dark nursery it is a significant amount of light. If you have a kiddo that likes a nightlight you may like this feature but for us it's a downside. Second is when the unit's heating element turns on and off it makes an audible clicking noise. Loud enough to be heard over our white noise, and enough to make an almost asleep baby start looking around the room to try and find where the noise is coming from. Maybe other babes aren't as sensitive or curious but this is extremely distracting for ours. Can't say we're happy with this heater for our nursery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for babies This is a really good space heater if you have babies/small children. The safety features on this thing were thought up by a mom for sure! You can choose between low heat, high heat & fan only. If it senses the room to be at the temperature you set it to- it will automatically switch to just the fan, so the noise is constant. If something is blocking it from getting enough air or if it gets tipped over it will automatically shut off. Turning it back on is slightly annoying though. You must actually unplug it from the wall and plug it back in before it will turn back on again. This gets tedious if you adjust it a lot. The sensor that thinks it's been knocked over is a button on the bottom of the unit that is pushed in by the weight of the unit. So- if you pick it up even just to move it 2 inches without turning the heater off- it thinks it's been knocked over and you must unplug it from the wall & plug it back in before it will work again. Annoying- yes. But still worth having the safety feature for my babies. I think it's priced a little high, but not outrageous for the quality & safety features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most complete, amazing heater I have seen I love this heater! I haven't been heater shopping in a while, and maybe I'm just not up to date with current options, but I am amazed at this heater! I have young kids and use this in my nursery, so the first thing I noticed was there weren't any fans or hot spots that could possibly hurt my kids. I am loving the cordless temperature sensor. I just set the digital temp setting and place the sensor near my babies crib, and let it do its magic. It does a great job of circulating the heat so the temp is even throughout the room. And I can lock the controls so my kids can't change the settings. It automatically shuts off if it senses the temp getting too high near the heater or if it is tipped. I couldn't think of any way to improve this heater! I had never heard of this brand before now, but if I came across other products made by them, I would be complete, comfortable buying them.
