Rated 2 out of 5 by Smartgrandma Attractive, classy looking watch
I loved this watch when I received it, thought the price was about right for a Pulsar with day/date function. However, The crown of this watch is very small and has some serious flaws, in my opinion.
First, it has two different positions for setting the day/date, while most other watches have just one which changes the date turning one way, and changes the day going the opositive direction. This model has 3 positions for setting the time, day & date, and they are quite complicated. After two weeks of trying I was unable to coordinate day/date correctly. The instructions are written in a font so small as to be almost unreadable.
Next, when you start to turn the crown to set time, date & day, the crown is designed in such a way as to actually inflict small cuts in your finger as you turn it! No kidding. I had many small cuts in my right index finger after trying to manipulat the crown. Some cuts were actually bleeding a little!!!! I had my husband check it out and he had the same problems. Then I had a clerk at a local Penney's store check it out, and she had a cut right away. There is a real problem with the function and form of the crown. If Pulsar solves this problem, this would be a very nice, classy watch, good for any occasion.
There was at least one other Pulsar day/date watch which I tested at Penneys which had the same problem.
I owned a similar Pulsar watch in the 1980's which even had an alarm, which was better than this watch. I don't know if I will buy another model or switch to another brand. Be sure and try out the Pulsar model you want to buy and make sure the crown mechanism is safe and easy to use.
