Rated 1 out of 5 by from BUMMER! LET DOWN. unfortunately. I never write reviews, but I am so let down. All the photos, including customer pics do not represent how the fabric is similar to a table linen you would see at a wedding and look of taffeta with a slight shine/subtle shimmer. I put it in my kitchen (updated w/ granite and subway tile) and does not fit. I can't imagine it fitting it in any kitchen. Apart from wearing as a wedding dress and a fancy sitting room, I don't know where you would hang these. To credit the shade, the shape and how the it hangs is nice! ....though I am extremely unhappy with the texture. Its cheesy. The fabric reminds me of couch upholstery from the 80's (I got the powder). Unless you're decorating a very formal living space, the taffeta style with the sheen is too much and unfitting. Hooks for an inside mount aren't great either. So, so, so unhappy. If I could add more pics I would, but only allowed two. PS, only using temporarily until I find something else to cover my window. Sad I made holes in my window frame for this roman shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Window Treatment-Excellent Value I shopped all over the country for a Roman Shade for my granddaughters' Princess Bedroom. The room has custom designed/made drapes and it had a roman shade that had faded from the Florida sunshine and it was of an inferior material & inferior workmanship when compared to the beautifully made & beautiful fabric of the JC Penney "Alexander Waterfall Roman Shade". I would never have imagined that this ready-made Alexander Waterfall Roman Shade would be so perfect!! I am thrilled beyond belief that this inexpensive Roman Shade is superior to the expensive shade that I replaced. Never again will I ever believe that everything must be custom designed/made & I am ever so grateful for the quick & efficient delivery of this shade to my front door. Thank you JC Penney! From now on I will shop JC Penney first & save myself time & money. Can't beat JC Penney sales & deals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Office French Doors I bought two of these shades and attached them to French doors in order to add privacy to my office. Perfect length, the white cloth is heavy enough that you can't see through it, and the shades were relatively easy to install. So glad I was able to find pre-made shades long enough to cover the windows on the doors because special order shades are so much more expensive. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from look great, break easily We bought these about six months ago for our daughter's bedroom. They look great and are easy to install, BUT the clips that hold the shades in place don't last long. With daily opening and closing, the clips started to fail after only a few months and the shades often come tumbling down. The clips hardly hold the shades up at all now. We want to keep the shades, but have to find a different way to install them. Also, one of the cords on one of the shades broke. It was easy to fix, but we don't think we should be having to repair the clips or the cords after such a short time. We were happy to find such good-looking shades for the price, but I guess you do get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality product at a great vlue At first I was very apprehensive about the quality but now i'm so happy I took a chance purchasing sight unseen. The roman shades are stunning and expensive looking. The shades are backed with some type of felt material for blocking glare, direct sun and add privacy. I installed ours as an outside mount and I wish I knew to add more than an inch on both sides. Shipping was extremely fast(4 days from date of purchase). I love the look so much I decided to replace all the window treatments in the whole house. Alexander Roman shade color Shadow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality appearance belies the cost! We just moved into an apartment and wanted to soften the appearance of existing venetian blinds on the living/dining room windows. We ordered Roman shades on line and were a little concerned about the quality since the price was so reasonable. We are really impressed with the fabric, which looks like raw silk. The cords to raise and lower the shades work beautifully. The shades create a stylish, very attractive finish to our 4 large windows. The measurements advertised are accurate and they were easy to install. We love the look they achieve--good coverage for privacy and a soft, diffused light during sunlight hours. Thank you for this great product!

Would you consider these for a kitchen?

I'm looking at other roman shades on this site but they have poor reviews. These have wonderful reviews. However, I'm concerned they may be too formal for my kitchen. My kitchen has a slight tuscan style with traditional knobs/pulls on my cabinets.
Asked by: Liza
These will be perfect. This fabric is light & beautiful & would be appropriate in any room. The fabric is beautiful & is one of those fabrics that will work well with traditional or contemporary decor.

Are these lined?

Asked by: PROFL
These are a beautiful light filtering fabric. If they were lined they would not have the light filtering quality. Lining creates a room darkening quality & some linings create blackout quality. The fabric of these shades is beautiful from the inside & the outside of the windows.

Is the pearl color a soft white or more of a beige color?

I'm debating between the Powder and Pearl color. I don't want stark white.
Asked by: Vicky
It's a creamy off-white.

Can these be shortened or ordered to a specific lengh size? The choices for the width are perfect but this is a short window.

Asked by: Mac043003
These are ready-made & I see no way to shorten. As long as they cover the length of your window you will be fine. You "ADJUST" the length with the cord to the exact length that you want and the extra length remains within the folds of the shade. I have been in others' homes that have roman shades and if the length is too long the homeowner simply let the extra length sit within the folds of the shade upon the window sill & it looks fine.
