Rated 4 out of 5 by NIce blind Blind was easy to install, and works great. I do wish there was a tab attached at the bottom to hold onto while raising and lowering it. I got the blackout, which in my opinion has affected the outside color and made it much darker. Otherwise I am very satisfied. First time user or pleated blinds, I hope they last a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic! I wish I hadn't waited so long to replace my old blinds. Always thought new ones were expensive, hard to measure, hard to install. Not the case with these blinds! We are thrilled with our new blackout blinds and keep ordering more for other rooms in the house. Highly recommend! April 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Love these shades. Had installed 2 in another room last year and decided to do again this year in another room. Be wary of following the recommendations for calculating width. Ordered 34" first time per guidelines. When I installed, noted that there was room for another 1/2" on each side. Ordered 35" this time and was dead on. For my installation I would have benefited by adding another hole in the mounting brackets. FORGET THAT. Must be from submarine steel or something similar. Only thing I did not try was plasma for fear of destroying the bracket. I also had to be a little creative to get the mounting brackets to latch in on the blind. It was a little tricky but used a long narrow screwdriver to "spring" the bracket from the back side. March 30, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Produce does what we needed Product fit nicely into window. Slightly easy to install. Looks great. April 23, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by over all good Product is good and was complete but did require strength to install on brackets. good instructions April 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what we were looking for I was looking for blackout shades that would hold up well for the bedrooms (especially for when the grandchildren are staying with us). The shades were easy to install and block out the sunlight from entering the room. The accordion like style are easy to open and close with utilizing the bar on the bottom of the shade. I would purchase again if needed. April 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value Works great right out of the box. excellent quality. April 21, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shades! Slightly pricey; HOWEVER, worth every penny. Installation was a breeze (not super happy about drilling holes in the new windows, but...), and they move up/down with barely a touch. The blackout feature is amazing - I've told several people about these shades and highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing cordless shades! April 13, 2016

Since there are no cords yes you have to hold on to the bottom of the shade to raise & lower it. I installed them without my husband very simple. I love mine so far.

Answer:
They are mounted on the top of the window and pull down like normal shades. They cannot be opened from the top down. They work great for our purpose. Hope this helps you.

Answer:
I have 13 of these shades, and I just love them. I chose not to have the ones that scroll down from the top. I have the pull down ones, and they are very easy to use and have stayed as good as new since the day I purchased them.

Answer:
You pull them down from the top only. unfortunately you have to actually grab the shade itself to close or open. There is no pull like I have had on other shades I have ordered.I know on custom blinds they make ones that can open from either the top or bottom. These are great in that there is no light let in. On a sunny morning you would never know it was sunny out!

Answer:
I open my blackout cordless shades from the bottom, as I always have with shades in the past. I have never used the top method and would find it awkward and cumbersome. I am delighted with the ease and function of these shades and would purchase again.

Answer:
Unless you purchased the ones that open from the middle, they open down with a very light touch. The bottom has a stable solid piece that you just gently grasp and pull down with very little effort. It takes barely any effort to put them back up. They adjust easily to open or close to whatever height you choose. No cords to worry about! Think of an accordion. They are like that more or less and you just open them as much as you like.

I need 36by48
Can I use 36by64 since it looks like it can't be shorten. Because 35by48 will have gap for light to enter.

Don't know if this will help or not, but the blinds I received were 1/2" less in width that that ordered. I ordered 34" and received 33 1/2". I also ordered 35" and received 34 1/2"

Yes. Our windows are two different sizes, both were 36 in width, one was 48 in height the other was 60. Shades worked great on both windows.

Answer:
You can, just keep in mind you will have some extra shade material. We do offer custom shades, which I have linked below. These shades are made specific for your window. I have also linked a shade similar to this one that is custom. I hope this helps!

Measuring 27x36
my windows for inside mount are 27 1/2 ". What size should I order. I think the 27 might be too small from the other answers posted here, but I believe the 29 will be too big ? Any suggestions ?

Answer:
With these blinds, NEVER buy them assuming you will be able to fit a size bigger inside the dimensions. The blinds are measured accurately. The 27 inch blinds for a 27 1/2 inch window INSIDE mount should be about perfect. Always double measure your own window just to be sure, top AND bottom of the inside of the window frame!

Answer:
When measuring for inside mounts, we ask that you measure down to the nearest 1/8. 27" W would be slightly smaller, but it could work. There will be a gap. If you would like the perfect fit, we suggest ordering cut to width shades.

Answer:
You should order the 27" - it would give you a slightly bigger gap where the light comes through but you can easily fill that in by adding a piece of wood or something else to the side walls to make the opening smaller - you will still be able to open the window if you have windows pull open upwards. I will do it with 2 of my windows in order to use these shades. I have my whole house done with them and I looooove them.

Answer:
I have not tried to cut any but there is no need to shorten it. You pull it down and stop wherever you want it to stop. It gives even more insulation when you leave it at full length as a thick layer can only be better.

Answer:
I think there's another shade that can be cut to size? I would wait until that goes on sale and cut it to your size. Mine were 32 1/8-1/4 and they fit perfectly. If you need the blackout, probably neither size will work for you.

Answer:
I am verifying that you are measuring the INSIDE width of your window? The 32" shade would leave a 3/4" gap on each side and the 34" would be too wide. If you don't mind the gap, order the 32", otherwise, you would need to order a custom width.

Answer:
That depends on where your measurement is on the window. Is it for an inside mount or outside on the trim? If it's inside and you want darkness, the 32 will be too short and light will filter around the edges. I would consider the 34. Ours are mounted on the outside. It remains dark enough to sleep during the day. We don't have any curtains, but a tier across the top. If you add any curtain that covers the sides - you'll have near total darkness. These shades are awesome! You will love them.
