Rated 5 out of 5 by from JCP Thermal Roman Shades vs JCP Savannah Roman Shades I really like the black color thermal roman shades. They are made of nice thick cotton with a white backing. They also lay nicely. I am replacing JCP Savannah roman shades with these JCP thermal ones because the Savannah shades have not held up well in my bathroom. (See my review under Savannah shades with photo explaining why). Also, Savannah shades are light filtering where as the thermal shades are nearly blackout. What I don't like about these thermal shades is that the brackets are made of cheap plastic and the screws are cheap so be sure to at least use some quality screws. I will be raising and lowering daily so I don't expect these cheap brackets to hold the shade for very long especially since the shade itself is made of heavy fabric. I am hopeful that I may be able to "rig" the Savannah metal brackets to work with these thermal shades. Also, the top rail is made of light weight plastic. I have uploaded photos showing the differences in JCP Savannah vs JCP Thermal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good luck on color if you need more than one We ordered two of these in the rustic red for our office. Once we had hung the second and could see them side-by-side, it became apparent that they do not match. They are not the exact same shade of red, the pull cords are slightly different colors, and the thermal backing on one is much thicker or more dense than on the other (see picture). We thought it was probably a fabric anomaly and ordered a third. Amazingly, the third was a completely different hue of "rustic red" that didn't match the other two, more orangey in tone. It was also thinner like the one on the left in the picture, allowing more light to filter through. As other reviewers have stated, these shades don't fold evenly when being raised- the fabric bunches and must be adjusted each time. If you only need ONE shade and want something pretty inexpensive, this product might work for you. However, if you need more than one, it is highly likely the colors will not match and they are DEFINITELY not worth the money at full price. JCPenney needs to speak to the manufacturer about the inconsistencies with this product. I do not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Insulating Shade We ordered these for our son's nursery after we noticed how chilly his room was getting (even with curtains!) in our 100+ year old house. They are excellent! The shades are very good looking (we ordered cool white) and do a great job of keeping the heat in the room. And they are very easy to install, even on our crazy old window casings (we mounted them inside the casing). They do make the room slightly darker for his naps, but they are not black out, so some light does come through (our guy doesn't nap in darkness so they work fine for us.) And they do have a cord, so for safety I've shorted them and we're using the cord anchor (that they come with) very high up on the wall. We liked them so much, we ordered more for 3 other rooms. We got them on sale, so I would say we got an excellent deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent at keeping the cold out! Look great! quality. Yes, it does come with only PLASTIC mounting hardware. So far no issues. We hung them two weeks ago. My husband and I don't see how that plastic can possibly hold up for years of raising and lowering the shades. They are a great quality and fairly heavy material too. I assume we'll be looking for replacement hardware down the road. We purchased these for every window in our home, 24 of them. My husband spent about 3 hrs on a Saturday and 2 on Sunday, and all were installed. Quite easy to install, just time consuming when doing 24 of them. They are wrinkled, which I don't like. The wrinkles have lessened since they were first hung, but, remain fairly significant. I think I'll use a hand held steamer to get them out. They could be ironed before hanging, if the wrinkles bother you. when I draw them open, I have to fuss with the material at some intervals to have the flap lay flat. They don't just fold evenly over each other all the time. I really like the neat look, so, I just fuss with the flaps as I'm drawing them up to be sure they all fall evenly over each other.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality but only fair quality control I was very happy with my initial order of the thermal lined roman shades. You can tell by just pulling on the cord to raise and lower the shade that they used good materials. It was not difficult at all to install and adjust. Even cutting the end of the cords to the height I wanted was not such a scary thought since the shades were easy to manage and operated intuitlively. I bought shades for my living room amd other bedrooms of my house as well. It seemed that the last order that I had. (I ordered 3 seperate times). The quality of the workmanship on the blind began showing; The rivet holding the textile to the shade bar came off; the mechanism to the pull cord was broken, actually chipped off from the bar. However, customer service was great. I had to pay for a replacement and now I have to run to the store to return the broken one and get credit for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend I highly recommend these shades! I live in upstate New York and I needed a affordable thermally shade. The next morning I noticed how much warmer my room was! and they block out light! We have old frames so at first I was sure we had to return. My husband made these( see pictures) to install shades and it works perfect! If you think you need to return shades because of window frame, see if you can make these:-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice blinds for the money I have purchased thermal lined Roman blinds from a few different sources, including JCP so I feel I have a widespread knowledge. I really like these blinds with one exception. They don't fold neatly. What I mean is when the blinds are raised, the fabric scrunches up into a fat bunch at the bottom. Other blinds I've have will fold neatly, remaining flat against the window. To remedy this, I have unhooked the guide rings from every other tier of loops. They fold beautifully now, looking tidy and stylish. The quality of the fabric and construction is top notch. Installation was flawless. I bought 5 blinds in the soft cream which is true to its name, all at great sale prices. I am very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looks, tricky to install I purchased these to insulate 2 windows on the weather side of the house which has been extremely cold this winter. They are nice looking, and have done a great job helping to keep the room warmer. Having hung numerous blinds & shades in the past, I did not expect them to be difficult to install. The position of the screw which needs to be tightened to hold the shade in place makes this an awkward and somewhat difficult task. Also, there is only one small plastic tab on each end which holds the entire weight of the shade. The top portion of the shade sags somewhat in the middle, making me think there should be additional support, and wondering how these tabs will hold the shade up before breaking. Fortunately, these will not be raised & lowered frequently, which may extend the life of the support bracket.

What color is "stargazer."

Asked by: Maureen
Stargazer is a teal color. It's not vibrant, saturated teal, but it is definitely a teal green.
