Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love them, except the holes! I purchased two of these in gray when redecorating my Daughter's room. She was at camp and it was a surprise. They were easy to hang, and I love everything about them- except all the tiny holes that run the length of the shades, which are stitch marks from the way they are made. They let light come thru, more than I anticipated and I was disappointed. If it wasn't for us needing to show the redone room to her when she came back I probably would've taken them back to the store and ask them to try new ones. I just didn't have time to mess with it. But otherwise they look good and function great (so much better than our previous JCpenney Roman shades that have cords and whose liners tear over time/cords on backsides tear.) I had seven of the older style and can't wait to slowly convert them all to the cordless style. I wish there were NO HOLES- then these would be perfect. Even the kids can operate these which is great (3, 6, and 8) I've had them up for 9 months with no issues

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice material Hard for me to give a full review because they have not been hung on my windows yet, but I like the material, the color works very well in that room and since I live in a community with an HOA, one of the rules is that anything facing out towards the street or your neighbor has to be white or off white and these are lined in white. I have had trouble finding things to put on my windows that are lined without it costing a small fortune because I have 14 windows to do and a sliding glass door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shades for the price I like the look and feel of these shades. The cordless feature is really nice. The fabric is just thick enough to look like a more expensive shade. They were easy to install. The downsides: I ordered three of these and all three had markings on them. Two had small black lines and one had some red lines. I kept the two with the small black lines because I didn't want to chance exchanging them for new ones that may have more red lines. I am returning the one with the red lines, which is okay because of the other downside. These shades do not fold up as high as I'd like them to. They hang a bit low even when fully open. Because of that, I can't use them in the smaller kitchen window, so I don't need the third shade I ordered. I'd still order these again regardless of the low hang and marks because they are a great value compared to other roman shades. They give privacy, but still allow light to come through (exactly what I wanted!)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dover Shades are Low Quality These are low quality shades. When the light hits the seams it looks like there are dozens of little holes in the shade. One of the seams was unfinished and immediately came undone. With less than a month of use, the brackets broke on one shade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winning shade !!! Great light blocking & window insulating roman shade. Love the cordless feature, especially since we were hanging two shades side-by-side for a double window. JCP has always been a source of quality window coverings at reasonable pricing for our family. As stated by other reviewers our shades have a few pin dot holes in places but at the price I got them & considering that they were aware of the issue I wasn't going through sending them back. They are usually only pulled completely shut at night and then there is no light to shine through the micro holes anyway. I can live with it, but would consider it to be a quality issue by the maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality! Ordered window shades for the Family room and wanted high quality shades. I refuse to buy anything with slats that have to be dusted. These shades are easy to wipe off and keep clean. The shades I received are really attractive and look very expensive but they were reasonably priced. The shade material is high quality. Easy to install even for my "not so handy husband." Will replace other blinds in the house with this same shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well in the room I ordered these after reading the reviews . They work great in the room. They were really winkled and one of them has a small hole in the middle of it . I steamed the winkles out and the small pin hole doesn't bother me . I got the dark gray hoping it would darken the room when pulled down , it helps some but still a lot of light comes through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for decent roman blinds These roman blinds were easy to install, they look nice and pull up and down very easily. Only downside is the handle is behind the shade (hidden on the window side of the blind) so i'm afraid it will start to get soiled looking since you can't see where the plastic handle is attached. Otherwise, decent blind for the money.

Answer:
Possible on mine, but I have plain window frames. The shade has a "cartridge" into which it retracts, and this adds about an inch to two inches in protrusion from the actual mounting surface. That's part of the reason it didn't work on my windows, because I had a gap between the frame and the back of the shade, leaving far too much room for air penetration.

Answer:
Yes- the brackets can mount on the outside of the window. They screw into the top of the window frame (the horizontal part) and the shade snaps in- the brackets hold the back part of the shade in place, not the sides, so you don't even seen the bracket.

We mounted ours on a single patio door. Thewindow is 23 inches wide with a 1 inch surround. I bought a 27 inch shade and mounted it outside the surround, worked great!

Answer:
The shade can be mounted either inside or outside of the window frame. When you receive the shades, there will be an easy step by step guide on how to mount them properly. I hope this helps!

Don't see why you can't hang 33" on the inside. One inch smaller than the actual width worked for me.

Answer:
Yes - the shades attach at the back of the shade, so they don't need to fit perfectly (our windows weren't the perfect size either, so there was just a little bit of room on either side of the shade)

Answer:
I ordered the 36" for a 36" window, but you can order one of each size and keep the one that fits better. Return the other. You should also ask for a free color swatch as colors may be difference from what appears in the picture.

Answer:
I found the exact measurement to work well. The 35 inch will leave a half inch gap on each side. Be sure to measure at the top where they will be mounted.

I ordered the exact width and they were too big. The ones one inch smaller were perfect for inside mount.

You should be fine with the 36" width. If you don't mind a little light around the sides, you can opt for the 35". I hope this helps!

Answer:
well I looked at the back and I see a ribbon with one main string embedded in it. I do not think I would "trim" anything fearing the whole set-up would fall apart. The shade is so simply made and easy to hang and use. It is longer than my window too but since it is usually in a raised position it is a non issue for me. I have another set of roman shades with strings...I like this "no strings" version better and I have no young kids.

Answer:
There are 2 support strings. I think it would be tricky to try and trim them or the shades, as you'd likely ruin them.
