Rated 5 out of 5 by These drapes are a family favorite I have grown up with JC penny drapes being in my home. Now, I am 51 and both parents have passes, I am decorating with a man's style in mind. All of the windows have JC penny drapes on them. I love the Jenner cotton twill drapes in colors befitting the rooms. They are good quality, well made, value priced and can be thrown into the washer and dried. I love them so much that I am going to use the patterning of them and make three panels for my den in the color that was called Aurora, a blue green colored drape. Believe me, you can not go wrong with buying these drapes and they come in a large variety of colors. July 18, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not really black-out The curtains are nice, however, they do not block all of the light, the white lining is quite thin. July 15, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by These are awesome! I ordered 6 white panels 4 years ago and they have held up so well I decided to order 6 navy panel this time for a different room. I will not hesitate to order more when I need more curtains or when they possible add more color selection. You will need to steam them when you remove them from packaging to remove the wrinkles, but they are well worth it. A BIG YES ALL AROUND!! July 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Style and Price I tried about 15 different curtains before I found these and they are great! They are insulated, but not stiff. They are not shiny yet are dressy. They hang beautifully. They are dressy but not too formal. The cream color is true. June 30, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by great colors, but wrinkly This was the style of curtain I had in mind, and it comes in a variety of colors and lengths. They were on sale, which made them pretty much irresistible. They show white to the outside, contrary to what I was told when I enquired at JCPenney.com. I ordered soft cream, traditional navy and rustic red. The colors are great, but fabric is very wrinkly, particularly the cream. The navy is the the best, and the red is in between. I ran them through a rinse cycle and hung them up wet, per the directions, but the fold lines and wrinkles didn't hang out. They are extremely noticeable on the cream, and I ended up pressing them with a steam iron, which helped, but who wants to iron curtains?! I'm hoping that with a real laundering and time, they will straighten out. Also, I noticed two curtains are not exactly the same length as the others. I haven't decided yet whether I would buy these again, or if I would recommend them. February 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Value, Curtains are just what I was looking for I purchased these in soft cream. The color consistency is great (as oppose to some other reviews). I suspect those comments may be based on the fact that some threads and perhaps excess fabric can get caught between the liner and outer layer during manufactuering and packaging, but when you iron the curtains and clean these bits and pieces out the fabric consistency is totally fine. These are in our nursery, and they cut down on the light significantly, but there is still some natural light (which is what we wanted). It is totally cozy for afternoon naps without creating an environment where our child requires complete darkness for a nap. It is nice that there is a tab and pocket, it allows you the flexibility to choose your look. The only downfall is that the pocket is slightly small, so if you have a thicker curtain rod it is a little difficult to open and close the curtains. I had to retrofit my curtain rod with some sticky fasteners (rod to bracket), so the rod does not move when I move the curtains along them. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase! I would definitely recommend these curtains. March 30, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by great price and look nice I bought these for several rooms. The are lined and hang well. I had a problem when ironing one panel it just ran, so it is now hanging with a tear thru the outer fabric. They require very gentle care. Not sure if they will wash. June 2, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Curtains serve the purpose for which they were purchased Curtains serve the purpose for which they were purchased. The color brightened the room while providing the darkness that I wanted. June 1, 2016

Answer:
Yes these are cotton twill fabric drapes. Yes cotton does breathe. If you suffer from mildew behind your drapes, you have moisture accumulating on your window. You need to see how you can fix that problem. Drapes will not help that.

Answer:
Yes, they do breathe. However in the space you describe, I think you willl need to allow for some open space between the panels so air can circulate. I have single pane windows, so moisture collects on the inside when its cold outside. In the morning I just make sure there is room for circulation between the panels, windows, and the room.

The curtains are 100% cotton and besides cotton being soft and comfortable. It’s best property is its ability to ‘breathe’

Answer:
The rod opening in these drapes is 3-4 inches. So consider that before you order these drapes. I use a I inch rod but remember, you can use up to a three inch rod with no problem.

Answer:
I used a continental rod. The curtains fit when the rod is put both either through the rod pocket or through the back tabs.

Answer:
I am using a 1 ½" diameter rod, and there is plenty of room to slide the panels back and forth if you use the full rod pocket. I think a 3" rod would work, but the panels wouldn't slide easily. I tried using the tab-backs but the weight of the 64" curtains tends to skew how they rest on, and fall from, the rod.

Are they really 40" wide when stretched out? So I can use one curtain on a 3-foot wide window, and it will cover it? Thank you.

Answer:
For a flat panel, yes get one. For fullness and attractiveness, get two panels. Believe me you'll love the look and the quality of these drapes. Get the ones with the sewn in lining. Make sure you ask for them, you won't be disappointed.

I'm interested in the white panels but need something that's 99-100% blackout. Are these blackout or just darkening?

Answer:
They are lined drapes. One lining is sewn in and it filters the light, the other is applied to the material and it filters about the same amount of light. Neither lining is blackout.

Answer:
I have the ivory curtains, and they don't block light. They do block the sun so it's not blinding you, but the room is fully light.
