Rated 5 out of 5 by nice product Ordered this for my bedroom, and it looks great! I was able to use the coupon, and it was on sale. January 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The idea of the two rods together adds such an elegant look to my windows. The quality far exceeds my expectation. They are sturdy yet not heavy. My windows look like they have been done by an interior decorator. I purchased five rods in different sizes and am very happy with the results. I would suggest these rods to anyone that wants that double layer look. This is a great product for an extremely professional appearance. December 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value & looks great Quality at a reasonable rate. You can't go wrong! I've said it many times, your best buy. November 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Substantial and easy to install These curtain rods came well-packaged and with easy-to-understand instructions. Putting them up was easy, and the hardware ensures that curtain rods do not slide back and forth when opening/closing curtains. The gunmetal color matches the "gunmetal" grommet color of the curtains I purchased perfectly. The extension up to 108" works with telescoping rods, so they are not the same diameter all the way across. At first, the way to set-up the extension rods was not intuitive, but we figured it out after just a few moments. Where the smaller rod extends from the original, there is a thin black plastic ring that helps hold everything in alignment. At first, I found this distracting when looking at the set-up because it is quite noticeable against the gunmetal of the rods. But I have gotten used to it. That ring does catch the grommets when opening/closing the curtains, but it's not a huge inconvenience. May 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy installation My window is a large picture window so I thought it would be difficult to put the rod up but the installation was rather easy. September 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Curtain Rod I was very pleased with the Umbra Double Rod that I ordered on line. September 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Rod, Not Easy to Find Matching Clip Rings I too had a difficult time finding a double rod set that would extend past 120 inches and this one is just wonderful, only it was difficult for me to find clip rings in a size and color that would match the inner rod. The ones JC Penney sells in the pewter color in the Umbra brand are fine for the outer road but in my opinion are too large for the inner rod, plus they are a bit pricey. I tried finding them elsewhere, and what an adventure that turned out to be. Even in other brands that had a color that would match this (or come close) they were either too large or too small. I never thought buying clip rings would be so difficult. To make matters more complicated, I think the Umbra company is switching from the pewter color to a satin nickel, which is much brighter and will not go with this rod. September 29, 2013

Telescoping to full length will cause a dip in the rod, and/or the weight of the drapes pull it down, w/o a center support bracket.

I won't have the room for a finial on one side of the window (too close to the corner).

Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your question.

Yes you can certainly remove either of the finials. In order to do so all you need to do is simply unscrew it from the rod.

Thank you,
