by Sharon Nervous at first
My 85 year old mother in Ca. asked me to pick out drapes and gave me a budget. Nervously I chose the color and let her in on it the best I could but because of time restraints I couldn't send her a sample because I was flying to Ca in a little over 2 weeks and I had to ship to her. Well, I got in on buy one get one free. I had so much left over I surprized her with sheers. Plus I ordered 2 sheers to make coverings for 2 small windows in the living room. She was so happy with the color of the drapes and sheers and quality. I hung them up by myself without any trouble and they were on a travous rod with sheers in the back. Now I am waiting for a BOBO so I can get drapes for my own home.

by SuzieQ Elegant timeless curtain panels
I recently bought the Royal Velvet pinch back pleat curtain panels for my bedroom from JC Penney’s in Leawood, KS.
The curtains arrived very quickly -within a few days and much earlier than promised.
The fabric looks like expensive raw silk with a few clumps of threads or textures here and there.
I bought the Ivory color, because it is elegant, classic and timeless. It is a slightly yellowish color, more than cream color and gives a smooth warm light in daytime.
The sales lady recommended the thermal lining, which is the middle quality of lining that they offer. It is not a complete black out lining nor the thin white cotton fabric lining. ‘It hangs nicer’, she said and it certainly does and it still lets light through but renders complete privacy. I find that it was money well spent, roughly $50 for my six panels.
All panels were sharply creased from top to bottom with all the pinched back pleats. I managed to iron them - not press with a dish cloth, - which would take forever, but really stream iron all six panels with my steam iron. First I tested on the back side on the hem below with heat meant for the synthetic fabric type then I increased the heat all the way to Linen which is the highest setting. I felt assured that it would be safe to iron directly on the front of the curtains. I ironed out every fold and in between the pleats on top as well.
Looks great! Wavy and neat.
I will not dry clean my curtains in the future, only dust the curtain rods regularly (probably best to also do it frequently) and I intend to vacuum the panels once or twice a year like the very knowledgeable sales lady Susan recommended.
The only complaint I have is that the curtain panels are not equally long. I have an older house so the floors a probably not even, but we did measure every panel, and they are definitely not the same length. They differ up to 2 inches from shortest panel to longest..
It was a bit of a bummer and quite the puzzle to hang them. I wanted them to hang evenly on top, showing the same length of each ring, so there was not much to do but match them in pairs as best we could.
But the end result is very neat and pretty. They were easy to hang with curtain hooks on my curtain rod rings.
And no one will ever notice the length differences. ☺

by Moe971 Rich and beautiful looking!
I was having difficulty finding pinch back pleats for my transverse rod area over sliding glass doors. The reviews helped me, and I selected (finally) the pinch backs that also had tabs. I was able to use push pins to connect to the slots, and am so satisfied with the result. They are also thermal necessarily so being close to the door. They hung beautifully and are a rich cabernet. Almost bought a back up pair!

I ordered a bunch of these panels in silver sage for my bedroom. They are beautiful drapes--perhaps not as good as custom-made, but still quite lovely. (I may be unfairly comparing them to custom-made, hence the "good" quality rating instead of "excellent.") Out of the package they were wrinkled, but I'll steam out the wrinkles if they don't come out by simply letting them hang for awhile. They're light in weight but hang well (better than the non-thermal lined panels). The back tabs make them so easy to hang. Their thermal lining is separate (not fused to the panel fabric) and adds a welcome layer of insulation to my "insulating" top-down-bottom-up shades. The regular price for these panels is too high, but I ordered them during one of JCP's recent sales at 40% off plus "buy 1 get the 2nd for 1 cent" deals: A great buy! I don't know how durable they'll be, but the fabric used is not cheap. And the color I got is lovely: a soft, soothing green. I'm very happy with these panels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SmellyCat Good looking curtains, but smells like vomit
Put these up, and have noticed that after the sun starts to shine though the window, that these curtains give off a smell that's best described as vomit. I thought it would go away after a couple weeks, but it seems to be getting worse, or I'm just growing intolerant of it. They're otherwise very nice curtains. I'll have them cleaned and see if it improves (much to my dismay that I have to have brand new curtains dry cleaned, no less four sets). This wasn't an issue with my previous purchase of these thermal curtains in 2014. If it doesn't go away, I'll have to return them. I really don't want to return them, nor do I want to spend even more $$$ on curtains that shouldn't smell this terrible.

I really like shopping at Penneys, The clerks are so helpful and friendly. I also like the sale area, So much nicer then having to go to each depart, to find and look at sale items. I will definitely
be shopping at Penneys A lot more often..

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sandie Good Product...Only 1 Problem
I like the pinch pleat drapes I purchased....they have helped enormously with the heat beating through the south window.
They look nice, and I was able to obtain them in a 63" length, so I didn't have to pay for costly alterations.
My only problem was I am using a traverse rod, so that requires the use of hooks in the headers. The description said you could use the hooks that slide in on either side of the pleat stitching. NO WAY could you ever use that type of hook in these panels. I could barely get the regular style of hook into the pleat. I have had lots of pinch pleat drapes in my lifetime, but this is the only set where the pleats were stitched shut so getting the hook in was next to impossible. If you buy these, I would suggest using some metal thimbles when you insert the hooks to protect your fingertips. I stabbed myself twice as I struggled to insert the straight hooks.
