Prelude Grommet-Top Curtain Panel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME curtains! These curtains way surpassed our expectations! The triple layers provide great insulation for heat, cold, & sound! Would have given "perfect 5's", but some had to be exchanged because they were curling outward on the ends. We wanted something washable because we have dogs, so I immediately washed/dried all of the panels as the tag states. Since they were being discontinued, I needed to make sure they would hold up! After several tries, the key is to wash 2 panels on delicate/cold, thn 1 panel at a time in dryer for ONLY 5 minutes on cool, to take the extra moisture out. I found only washing 2 panels at a time, lessened wrinkling while waiting to be put in the dryer. I used timer each time! Immediately remove, gently pulling on all seams to remove wrinkles going from top to bottom on sides. Then hang on rod, push folds together (smoothing folds w/hands again top to bottom) and leave folds together to TOTALLY air dry BEFORE opening & using! The fabrics have memory & they look like new!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Drapes We Have I absolutely love these drapes! We have a total of 6 West-facing windows that used to heat up the core of our house by 10 degrees every summer afternoon, increasing our electric bill accordingly. The sun also glared through the slats of our blinds creating lines across everything in the room including the screens of our tv and computers. So the hub of our home was very unpleasant and hot. These drapes are not only beautiful but have completely solved all of the issues we had with the heat and glaring sun! The fabric is soft and has just a slight silkiness to dress up the room. The grommets make them so easy to slide open and closed, which is important since we have floor to ceiling windows. Others have complained about wrinkles, but just as anyother drapes will be wrinkled straight out of the package, a steam iron took the wrinkles right out and the weight of the drapes keep them out. I purchased the Azure Green and as others have said, these are NOT green... they are light Blue, very pretty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised I ordered JCP's product of Savannah III sliding panel and custom Roman Shades, which turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. Even though they were custom ordered and therefore non-refundable, I didn't care. They were that crummy. I found these panels at the store and thought I'd try them instead. Wow, I was so pleasantly surprised. They are so heavy and substantial feeling, not flimsy nor cheap feeling. They are lined very well and hang very nicely. I bought the chocolate color, which is a very dark, warm brown. Even with the sun directly behind the curtains, the color stays true. Great product for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant colors for curtains I first saw the curtains from a catalog photo. I was in love with the color combinations (quiet mauve and cool white) they have put up on the photo. Yet, I was worry that the real product would turn out to be different than what I thought. Once I made the purchase and those panels arrived, I was glad to see the colors of the real product looked just like those on the photo. I was also pleased to find out that the material of those panels were better than what I've expected. The fabric is soft to touch but heavy enough to create nice folding crests when hang up. I also took some time to iron each piece of the panel, so to recreate the same feel of what I've seen on the catalog photo in our guest room. Last month when my mother-in-law came to stay with us, she told me she loved the curtains I hang in the room. The panel colors made our guest room feel like those of the elegant hotel rooms!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, value and looks beautiful! I purchased 11 grommet drapes, in Abyss Green, and am in love with my living room. The color is actually a light blue, rather than green, but that's what I wanted. The inner lining was too poofy for my liking, so I cut them out, and they drape even more beautifully. I had no problem with the length, as some have, but I think you would find that problem with just about any brand. I also bought 3 grommet valances for the kitchen window to match. I am so glad I purchased these, because they're absolutely beautiful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more "freezin' in the Ozarks" with these drapes! The winter here in the Ozarks has been the worst in history. We set records on most days from December through late February and our house was cold. I had sheers over most of our windows and they just did not provide any protection from the fierce winter. We purchased the Prelude black out, thermal back drapes for my bedroom, our living room and our spa room. The difference in comfort is phenomial and I feel sure our heating bills will also show an improvement. No more shivering when the wind blows! We chose the burgundy and it is a true burgundy, rich in color and blends very well with our walls and other decor. The grouments make pulling the curtains closed and opening them as needed so easy. J.C. Penney seems to have their finger on the pulse of items that are of the best quality while at a reasonable cost. We're happy, happy, happy and "that's a fact, Jack."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money. These drapes were worth driving from Toronto for. I read the reviews but was skeptical about the value until I saw them at the pick up counter in the store. My only mistake was buying the first bunch too short (84"). The ivory colour was sold out by the time I realized that I should have bought 95". At 95" they go floor to almost ceiling in an 8 ft room height home and when hung on a nice rod, they look wonderful. I also bought the chocolate brown which is a nice warm, dark brown. I have now ordered the Cherry Truffle and Worn Indigo colour for the basement. The ironing is a bit of work (unless I'm the only perfectionist). Putting them in the dryer with a damp towel didn't fully work for me. i still had to iron first the lining side and then the front side before hanging. However, well worth the effort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice curtains, but they are not blackout curtains. The description of these curtains do not describe them as blackout curtains, but many of the other reviews do. They do have 3 nice layers, but Cool White does let some light through. This is fine for me because I did not need a dark room...but this should be considered for anyone who truly wants to darken a room.

What color are the grommets

I plan on ordering the gold color curtains and would like to match the grommet to a rod. What color are the grommets?
Asked by: ShantiMa
They are a pewter color, but I used a dark bronze rod and it really looks very nice. I enjoy the darker rod as it accentuates what a grommet-style drape is ll about: the lacing of a rod through the grommets.

Do these curtains provide any kind of sound barrier? We live on the corner of a busy road and are trying to cut down on some of the road noise.

Asked by: RNordel
There isn't a sound barrier, but they are energy efficient, so they have a nice layer of insulation between on the back. Probably help with some noise, but mostly for light and keeping the room cool in summer, and warmer in winter.

How many panels and valences do I need for a 60" window?

Asked by: katro
I did mine 70" window with four panels, two colors each side. So when the curtains are draw closed at night, they would be wide enough to cover the entire window, while the two different colors would create some kind of nice shadows to make the room look elegant.

What size rod do these take? Is there a rod made to coordinate?

Asked by: Prophet62
I used two of the decorative rods that Penney's offers. I feel that the diameter of the rod doesn't need to be large - the drapes look perfect to me hanging on a thinner rod.
