Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, Quality Rod It is difficult to find double rods. It is even more difficult to find quality rods. JCPenney never disappoints regarding the quality of their rods. I ordered this one in antique pewter as this one isn't available in brushed nickel. It is simplistically beautiful. The color and appearance is true to the image posted, and everything was packaged very well so as to protect the rod from damage/marring of the finish. I have not rated the durability as it is new and I cannot comment on that at this point, but expect it to last as it appears to be made of quality materials. I highly recommend this rod. I rated the rod an excellent value as it was on sale and I also had a percent off coupon. It was still not inexpensive, but was an excellent value considering the quality of the item. The regular price is quite pricey, but this rod is not resin or painted plastic like the majority of rods that are sold elsewhere, and so the adage that you get what you pay for rings true -- hope when you are shopping for rods that JCPenney has them on sale and you'll be even happier with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am so pleased with the products purchased and the high level of customer service I received from Betty T. & Sam S. the both helped so much. I am so very pleased with the highest level of customer service I received, from Betty T & Sam S.. I had a preconceived idea what I wanted although I had never worked with the type of curtains I purchased. Betty T. worked with me and through all the concerns I had, her expertise and knowledge of her product help make the final result stunning far far more beautiful than I had imagined and the color was perfect. I past experiences have left me feeling that customers did not matter, kind of like empty . I've been bragging about my experience at J.C. Penney's, their employees have product knowledge & outstanding customer service. You cannot teach the level of customer service Betty T. has. Thank You Carla Wilton

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I neeeded Simple, traditional design curtain rod that I used above the windows in the dining room, living room and family room. I purchased 6 rods (3 double and 3 single) in two different sizes for use and have hung them all now. Being able to select the color was key for me so I could match the rods to the rest of the rooms' decor. The only words of caution I would give to others when purchasing & installing are: 1) Do not intend to use the rods to their maximum length unless placing light weight fabric on them because more expanded the rod gets, the weaker it is in the middle. Plan on having at least 2 to 3 inches of overlap of the inner rod and outter rod for stability and preventing a sag in the middle. 2) When installing the brackets, do not place them too close to the window trim because the curtains can't cover the brackets leaving the window trim work exposed (not attractive).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product goes with all decor and is versatile I had previously purchased this product for my home and after I moved I realized I needed more for the additional windows. I was excited that I could order it in various sizes (it easily adjusts) and was still able to get the same color so I didn't have to replace all of them. This is versatile for almost any room in your home. It even cleaned up nicely after being stored for over 1 year. The only downfall was that I lost the brackets to my old sets and had to buy replacements but wasn't able to get the same ones I previously had. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from get rod I needed a double rod that would look right for tab top curtains and gauge shears. This rod was exactly what I was looking for. It did not take away from the curtains or the shears. It comes in many colors. Was very easy to install, I'm 5' tall and had no problem installing the brackets. It comes with a middle bracket, I did not need it, my curtains are not heavy. Looks great in my dining. Have had a lot of compliments .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Never met a more frustrating bracket The rods are ok if you get the smaller sizes. The larger ones really sag unless you use the middle brackets, which brings me to my summary... these brackets have to be the most frustrating thing I've ever worked with. Once you drill the holes into the wall, it is impossible to drill in the screws with the angle between the parts of the brackets that hold the curtains and the holes in the brackets. In order to avoid stripping the screws you must use a hand held screw driver, but still the angle almost guarantees that you must strip the screw in order to get it flush. Horrible design on the brackets. Give me a little space on the brackets, so I'm not ready to destroy the whole thing before I'm done. Anyone with any ideas on how to make this process easier, I would be all ears.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wacky These double rods look great. My biggest problem with them is that if the inner and outer curtains are the same length, you are going to have one of them showing at the top or at the bottom (most likely) and thus have to hem the inner curtains. They are also a pain to install. Hard to access the holes. I had ordered 4 sets, used 1 and returned the other 3.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever! We bought three of these and the design is horrible! The loop blocks the screw holes so you have to screw it in at an angle so the screws don't go into the walls properly. The screw driver and or drill continues to slip off the screw going into the wall. My home was brand new and now I have 3 screw head holes in my wall. Do not buy these!

How many brackets come with the 48-86" rod? I'm wondering if there are three... would like to have a center bracket for support in the middle.

Does the front rod sit a bit higher than the back rod?

I'm planning to use clip rings to hang the front curtain panel and want to make sure the sheers on the back rod won't show at the top. Thanks.
Asked by: Gigerina
You can attach them them either way

Do the finials come off? How big are the finials?

One of my windows is in a corner and I don't have much room between the frame and wall. I am hoping I can remove one finial and have the rod go to the wall at the corner.
Asked by: GIna
Yes the finials easily come off from both ends.

Can I buy just one replacement bracket? I was trying to remove the curtain to wash it and the opposite bracket just broke. So I need a replacement.

Once it broke it looks like plastic, not metal. Whatever it is made of I still need a replacement. Is it available?
Asked by: judy
No, we do not sell replacement brackets for these.
