Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loyal Customer Almost 35 Years on This Bra Great support, great value, good fit, and comfortable. Although you aren't supposed to sleep in this type of bra, I have for years because I never wanted to sag with age. It must have done the trick because I'm almost 50, and happy with that part of my body. Also the padded top straps don't dig into you. I remember as a young adult at age 19 when on my 3rd job ever, I was asked by a fellow colleague why I wore a bra with big wide straps. And she continued, "why the federally armored bra?" I replied, "because I have heavy artillery." We both laughed. If you need good support and comfort then this bra is the one. Playtex makes a bra just like it, but more expensive called the 18 Hour Comfort Strap model 4693, so JCP's brand is cheaper and does the same thing with the same look. However, it does show some lines under T-shirts, so sweaters are better. Bought 3 of these again recently in Richmond, VA on credit card when JCP had the bra sale in early September. Rated 1 out of 5 by from USED to be good bras but they now make them cheaper! I have been wearing this style of underscore bra for nearly ten years. I was happy when my new order arrived in the mail, but now am not. The quality of the newest order of these bras (March 2017) is lower than in the past. The new bras are made of thinner material and don't have the same support that they had in the past. Very disappointed! Please make these bras the way you used to!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I ordered or expected I bought these bras because I had a reward that was expiring. I've yet to find a bra that I'm super happy with, so every time I buy them, I try a few different brands and styles. Last time I bought bras, I'd bought a Playtex 18-hour bra with comfort straps. I hated it, so I knew I'd never buy another one of those. It was way too tight around, even though it's the same size as all of my other bras that fit me just fine. The extra-wide band around the bottom bunches up and cuts into me. The straps are way too short, even when fully extended. They also give me a torpedo shape, like a 1950's bra. I put on my Playtex and feel like I should be donning a sweater, a poodle skirt, and a scarf around my ponytail. Yeah, so the problem with this "Underscore" brand bra, is that it is exactly the same as the Playtex 18-hour bra. I don't just mean that I have the same problems with it. I mean that THE LABEL ON THIS BRA IDENTIFIES IT AS A PLAYTEX-18 HOUR BRA!!! I checked the box it came in over and over. No where on the box does it refer to Playtex. It does not call Underscore a subset or style of Playtex. It just says Underscore as the brand in numerous places on the box it came in. It seems to identify JCP at the manufacturer of the bra. The tags on the actual bras, however, identify both of the bras I purchased as Playtex, not Underscore. Now, I did actually buy a different style of the Underscore brand, and it's labeling does call it Underscore, not Playtex. So, why? I mean, I thought they looked pretty similar in the pictures, but with a difference in price, I assumed Underscore was an imitation brand or something. I guess not? So, the two bras I bought in this style are also too small. Luckily, I anticipated this to an extent. I thought that if they were trying to be like Playtex, they might run small like Playtex. I ordered them both in a 42 instead of a 40. They are slightly more comfortable, but still a little too tight. If it wasn't for the too short straps and the pointy, cone-shape it gives me (very much unlike the rounded shape the pictures show) I might try one more time with two sizes too big, but it's just not worth it. I really want a good wide-strap bra, but I certainly won't be trying this brand ever again. Sweepstakes entry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not satisfied with this purchase. I bought 4 of the Underscore brand Bra's and do like them. These were made in Indonesia and label RN#93677. When I saw the offer for the Comfort Strap for a good price, I ordered three of them, same size as I have. The straps were too short and were not like the others with wide three hooks to fasten in the back. They had only two hooks and were too tight on the last hook. All this was just trying on, so I expect would have been smaller after a wash. I returned the three in the boxes they came in. The boxes had been opened when I received the order, so they may have been returned. I didn't look to where they were made, but sometimes that makes a difference in size and fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit This Bra is phenominal, I never own a bra that was so comfortable for me and this is the one. I was so embarrased of getting measured for a bra because I didn't want anyone to think I am too old not to know any better about bra fit for different sizes. I never wore a full-figured bra, neither did I know there was a difference from regular size to full-figured size. I am so pleased that I can put on a bra that does not have my sides looping over underneath the arm. The straps on my back does not irritate my skin anymore and my fat rolls is not visible anymore when I put on a top. I love this bra!!!! Thanks & keep up the great work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My only bra! I have been wearing this bra for years, and I love the support. It is a tighter bra, and makes my bust appear somewhat smaller, b/c it does not give them a huge round look, but rather a rounded cone shape. I usually get a 38 ddd, if you do not like a snug fit go up a size. I buy about 7-8 of these each year, This is the only bra I wear, and I wash & dry each time I wear them, and have never had one fall apart. the elastic stays true. To me I feel naked without a firm bra, they do not ride up or roll, and give great side and back coverage as well, no (back-fat). If you are large busted they will seperate and divine each breast, they do not push both breast together and squeeze them so tight you find them under your armpits (lol.) I hate that, but instead they have a snug band and seperate cups that are not padded. If you are not sure about cup size i would recommend buying a couple differant cup size then send one back, because they have little stretch in the cup. love that they are firm, make you look good in your clothes. Really this is a great full coverage bra, keep in mind in the summer they do not breath as well as cotton, but I think that is a small price to pay for what i consider the best bra ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like this product. I like this product, obviously because I have been purchasing the same one for a couple of years. My previous choice of bra is no longer available at Penneys. I can no longer purchase the shoes I like at penneys as well as a couple of other items. My fear at Penney's is: When I like something and want to purchase it again, it is no longer carried by Penneys. I'm almost afraid to say I like this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best bra for large breasts I've been wearing this style bra for years.Tried higher priced lingerie store brands that cannot compare. Years ago my friend told me that for such a large breasted woman, I don't look frumpy or saggy & that my chest looks smaller when I'm wearing clothes...She's seen me in a bathing suit. I told her that this bra works wonders. I've been fitted by JCP for the correct size bra & the women have tried to get me to try other brands & each & ever one of them all do the same thing. Make me look larger & can't hold the breasts upright the way this bra does. Also having the comfort straps allows me to wear it longer without discomfort. I've recommended this bra to a young girl(in college) with large breasts & her friends have told her that she looks so much thinner.

Is the elastic made of latex?

I have been buying these bras for years but I have an alergy to Latex? Can you tell me what kind of elastic is used in these bras? Thank You Lynda Countryman
Asked by: lvcountry
Different parts of this bra, i.e. the straps on the shoulders, the cups, the inner band, and frame all are made of different materials. Some parts are polyester, some are cotton, and some are nylon and/ or spandex. There is one piece of the bra on the back band that is 84% natural rubber latex, but at least it's not synthetic latex, and it does seem to have a sheath or lining over that part. You can always try just 1 bra of this JCP brand maybe at home, when not expecting to go to work or to go out and see what happens. Doesn't feel latex-y.
