Rated 3 out of 5 by from uncomfortable under arms I have worn Playtex 18 hour bras for years and mistakenly ordered this one, thinking it was a different style (it is similar to one I purchased regularly). I don't know if the problem is due to the extended width of the shoulder strap, but the sides of the bra coming up under my arms are cut too close to the underarm area and cut into it. I loosened the strap adjustments and that helped some, but it is still very high cut on the sides. The cups are also "taller" and although there is great support without wires, it feels extremely tight at times. I have worn my other styles to compare, and this one is one I would not buy again. It is beautifully made, lovely design, but just not what feels right. If you do not want a bra cutting into your underarm area, then forget this one. The bra I find most comfortable is Playtex 18 Hour Comfort Lace Wirefree Bra Style: 18367 and I have never found this a problem in fit. Another one which fits well is Playtex 18 Hour Ultimate Lift & Support Wirefree Bra Style: 23480

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only bra that works I am 70, wear a 42 D bra this is the only style that holds me up comfortably. The price is half what I use to spend. Perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4693 is my all time favorite bra I was having shoulder pain and back pain from the type of bras I wore. Then about 20 years ago when I was a 40C, I discover 4693 and my problems with the straps digging into my shoulders disappeared. Over the years as I lost weight and gained it back again, I stuck with the 4693 in various cup sizes and I could always count on these bras supporting my breasts most comfortably without the shoulder pain. Now I weigh less and wear a 38B and although I thought could maybe try some of the sexier bras, they just didn't hack it for me. I love the way these bras stand up to the washing machine and dryer if I forget to remove them from the load after washing. They literally last for years. And when JCP has them on sale, that is when to buy a couple to keep your girls in style. Playtex, thanks to taking care of my girls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just plain ugly fit I so wanted to believe that I could find a comfortable and pretty wirefree bra. This style was not it. I tried 2 sizes and both had pointy cups and wrinkles in the wrong places. The fabric was stiff and uncomfortable. I'm not sure who this fits, but it wasn't me! I'll keep looking....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very uncomfortable, both the cups and chest band I bought four of these bras in different colors, same size. I wore two of them for a day each and found them so uncomfortable that I put them in a donation bin. The cup shape gives my profile a sharp "pointy" nipple look that is totally unflattering (like that character from Austin Powers that shot bullets out of its bra). The straps were wide and confortable, which one of two pluses for the bra. The colors were lovely, which was the only other plus. The cups had seams that gnawed at my breasts, very uncomfortable. The bras were not underwire, which I prefer, because underwire always digs into my ribs, yet these bras still hurt within a few hours wear like an underwire bra would. I wore Bali bras without underwires before trying Playtex and will be going back to Bali. I hope someone at the thrift store likes these Playtex better than I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT GET IN TROUBLE WITH THIS BRA Depending on how old you are you might not remember back in the day when some women would wear bras that made their breasts stand up to a point under a tight sweater . This bra does that. OMG!!! my sister calls it the "Madonna" effect. All I can say is "Wear at your own risk". I certainly intend to. LOL. Sorry no photos to share at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I am a DD cup and had been wearing underwire bras, but my clothes just did not look right! Once I got this bra, the fit was perfect. My breasts were supported and lifted, plus it was comfortable (no wires); my posture improved from the great support and my clothes look so much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to Be a Good Product but Not Any More ! I found a number of bad reviews on this bra online relating to overall quality: (1) bad plastic smell, (2) hooks bending after a few wears, and (3) bumps in the material showing through to the clothing. The reviews were by people who'd been purchasing Playtex bras for years. When the woman who had the issue with the bumps cut into her bra to see what the bumps were she found small plastic pellets inside. After reading these reviews I opened the packaging of the two bras I recently purchased for my mother and they did have a horrible plastic smell, a smell that lingers on your fingers, a smell similar to car tires and rubber balloons. I felt nauseous and got a headache after smelling it a few times. My guess is that it's the 84% natural rubber latex Band Facing they are now using--probably more "cost effective". I'm returning the bras and looking for a company that can provide quality without toxicity and inferior materials. It appears Playtex is more profit oriented than customer or product oriented. If not I look forward to your response.

Help with sizing

I am a 40B and love the fit, style and comfort of this bra "Ambrielle®Woman Mystique Embroidered Balconet Bra". I have gone to a couple of your stores local to me and have been told that Ambrielle does not make a 40b anymore. I have tried a 40c and the cup is way to big. help

I can only tell you what I did and do - I'm hard to fit. Measure the band on the bra you have that your like - without stretching it. Write down that measurement. Then with the help of a yardstick or friend with a tape-measure, stretch that bra's band as far out as it will 'go' - write down that measurement. (Make sure you are only measuring to the line of hooks you use - not the looser ones or tighter ones if you use the middle.) Cup-size is more tricky. Back to that last. Hook your bra you like. Measure the distance between the straps in front and back. Write down that number. Trace the shape of the front of the bra on a piece of paper - i.e. - does it "plunge"? Measure the bottom of the band to the top of the bra in the middle of cleavage area. Write that down on your tracing. Cups - this means you will be trying on a bra that meets the other measurements you like - measure the "length" (horizontal) of the cup from middle of cleavage over to where it goes into side seam. This should help you get another bra similar to what you have. Saves trying on a lot of bras - And remember to take your old bra with you - - instead of trying on a lot of bras (and getting depressed or exhausted) go at this like a "mathmatician" or "dress maker" - use your old bra you like as a pattern and measure it against the new bra, if the measurements seem to check out. New bra will be a little tight until it stretches out a bit. Hope this helps!

My elderly Mom wears a Playtex bra style 4170 which has been discontinued. Can you recommend a style closest to it that I can purchase for her?

Asked by: Icancook
Take a picture of the bra front and back, and straps. Make sure to show the size/ width of the band. Fax, or scan and save a jpg of the picture and measurements - send to Playtex for help. Call first to ensure you have a good email or fax #.

Does this bra have elastic straps and what is the difference between D-dd and DDD cup? Thank you.

Asked by: Cathy
The bra does not have elastic straps and I do not know the difference between D-dd and DDD cup as I should have gotten DD cups.

Does this bra contain latex?

I have a latex allergy and am looking for a latex free bra.
Asked by: gonepostal
I have no idea if it is latex free. You might consider checking JCPenney's description on their website.
