Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great career pants!! I have several pairs of these pants and love them! I need a straight fit in the hip and thigh areas, and these fit me just about right since I'm not at all a "curvy fit". (I finally figured out that I need to avoid curvy and relaxed fits like the plague, as they don't work for my body type at all). I would have given these pants 5 stars if they came just a tad bit higher on the waist. I prefer to leave the lower cut pants to the younger girls, as they only give me a "muffin top". I came back here to buy more and found (as usual) that my size is either back-ordered or not available. JCP you need to ramp up your inventory on these pants!! Also, please offer them in more colors like: khaki or tan, dark grey (for winter months), and a lighter brown (such as Lt Cocoa) for the spring/summer months. I have found no other career pants that fit me as well as these--and believe me, I've done lots of searching and shopping. Please make more effort at keeping these in stock and providing more colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product - but you better try on.every.single.pair or go up a size I've been purchasing the modern fit trouser leg slacks for YEARS and shopping at JCP even longer. At least two more sizes are in bins upstairs in case I gain weight (nononononono). On a recent trip, I decided some "fun" colors were in order in addition to a few more basics. So, I bought the size and style I always do. NONE of them fit. They are all about an inch too small in the waist and the legs are much slimmer. I'm going to have to go up a size. What happened? Did they change manufacturers?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Pants I own these pants in almost color. They do seem to fit really long on me, so I recently started purchasing them in misses short, which is a much better length. I have noticed a difference in the fit across the many colors/patterns, however, it's not significant enough to stop me from buying them. My most recent order, included these pants in the black white and grey herringbone patterns. The black and white is black with white pin dots. The picture shown online for the grey herringbone print is incorrect. The grey herringbone is actually grey with pink/dark grey plaid pattern. I do like them, but based on the picture they’re not what I was expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect to size For years I have had trouble ordering pants. Other companies don't fit the same even when they say the same size. These pants are always the same so it makes it easy to order online . I'm 5'2" so reg is way to long petites are great with heals and petite shorts go great with flats. I don't like the skinny leg styles so the trouser legs suit me better. They even have a little flare to the leg which is more of my style. I like the loose fit but its not baggy. Its a great look for my profession, stylish but not too sexy lol. Plus you can't beat the price. Most the time they are on sale. They last for many washes. I have one pair I bought 5 months ago. It was right after my baby so my smaller sizes didn't fit. I washed them almost every other day for 3 months and never had to iron them. Caution, dry inside out. I guess one pair got to hot in the dryer in one spot and kinda fringed the material. Like permanent lent? So now I make sure I dry them inside out to avoid that happening again.over all these are great pants and I haven't found anything better so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really nice fit I recently purchased these in brown and navy in a size 2 short. It is very hard to find pants that fit me as I have a long torso, shorter legs, and thicker thighs. These pants fit the bill. I had tried a size petite in the store and those were super tight in the thighs, but then I remembered that you could sometimes get pants from JCP.com in a "short" length instead of petite. Glad I went online, since they didn't have any "short" lengths in the store. These pants honestly fit like a glove. I am 5'4 and 135lbs and they are more form fitting but in a flattering way, and they actually have a little stretch to them which is really nice. I only have two tiny complaints: 1) They are a little bit too long for me. If you wear heels with them, you should be ok, but if you wear flats and are shorter than 5'4, they will probably drag a little on the ground. 2) The material is very lightweight and while that doesn't really bother me too much, I hope they hold up well in the wash...I guess time will tell. Overall, though, very nice career pants. I would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THE WAY THEY FIT & LOOK I bought a pair of these in the store - the last pair in my size (6P). I loved them so much that I went online and bought several more pairs on Black Friday & got a great deal. I am about 130lbs & 5'5 with a small waist and curvy hips & somewhat thick thighs. I wear: "Petites: 6 Petites" and they fit just perfect! The length is surprising perfect as well, finally a pair of slacks I don't have to get hemned which is wonderful! As far as the fit in the thighs, they are perfect for me. I didn't find them to be too tight like another customer mentioned. Everybody's body is different, so what may obviously work for one an individual - may not for another. I absolutely love these slacks & I hope they continue to keep these because I have finally found the perfect fit. The price is great, when on sale. I love the trouser style, because I believe it to be more slimming on a curvy body - you get more of a straight look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality but very long inseam. I have been buying Worthington pants for years, and I have always found them to be good quality. These are no exception, BUT for some reason, they are now making the inseam much longer than they used to. I am 5'4", and have always been able to wear "short" pants. The inseam used to be 29 1/2 inches. NOW the "short" pants have an inseam of almost 32 inches. WAY too long to wear with work shoes... unless you wear pumps every day. The petite inseam is now 29 1/2 inches, but the crotch seam is also shorted in petite pants, so that makes them unwearable for me. According to an internet search #assuming it's correct#, I'm LITERALLY the exact height of the average woman... but I can no longer wear ANY pants that Worthington makes without having to pay extra to have them hemmed. :# Other than this issue, the pants fit great, and are of the usual good quality. I hope they will reconsider this change in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants, inconsistent sizing I bought a pair of these pants in store and loved them. Purchased two more pairs of the exact same pants online and found that the sizing varied greatly. One pair was fine. The other had a 1.5 inch difference in the waist and did not fit the same. I will be returning one pair. Love them, but try them on before buying.

I am interested in Worthington Modern Fit Pants sizes 10 short and 10 petite. I usually buy the misses size 10 because the rise on a 10 petite is too short on me.

Answer:
I bought the tall so the rise would fit me. Petite has a shorter rise than short which only has a shorter leg length.

Answer:
I am 5' tall and sometimes wear 1-2" heels with my work pants. The petite size fits me very well with a little extra length. I think the short might be too short unless you were going to wear flats.

Answer:
In the petite sizes the rise fits better if you are actually someone of short stature and or a petite frame. Only in the Worthington pant can I wear a petite that actually fits me perfectly in the rise where the waist isn't up so high and the length is not so short that I have to go to a misses because I am long legged for a short person. I did find though that I had to go up a size in the Worthington line to fit me correctly so you might want to try them on which is what I did. The pants keep their color and fit and look like they did the day I bought them so I do highly recommend them.

I am 5'4" and only wear either the petite or the short Worthington dress pants. The modern fit is the type I go to just because they have a good length and fit well thru the hips.

Answer:
The difference between the petite and the short is the inseam. The petite has a smaller inseam than the short. I prefer to buy the short because it has a better fit. The difference can be between a half inch to an inch+. Because many garments are made overseas, the fit varies.

Answer:
I can tell you this much. I bought a 10 Short and the length of the pants were so short that the hem of the pants actually came up to my upper ankles making the pants look ridiculous on me. So I'm assuming that the term "short" in this case means the length of pants. By the way the rise was also short as is the norm with petite pants in general. I am 5'3 1/2" in height and weigh 135pds.

The pockets in the front are real - bigger than change pockets, but not terribly deep. The back looks like it has pockets, but they are not usable at all.

Answer:
The front pockets are real deep pockets.. The back pockets are there but they are partially sewn together. I released the stitching and now have two full back pockets as well. I own these pants in several colors and they are the perfect fit. I wear an 8L (6ft tall ) if that helps.
