Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drapes Do The Job I bought these drapes because our dinning room gets terribly hot in the summer. I thought we would need six panels, my husband thought four would be enough, when he put them up he realized I had been right. I rushed to the computer right away in hopes that I would be able to get the last two that we needed. I was amazed I could still get them and bought them right away. My husband wasn't too crazy about them at first, but now he loves them. They keep the heat out, are very easy to operate and cut down on the noise level quite a bit since we have ceramic floors. We have always had venition blinds and I asked him if he wanted to take them down when he put the panels up. I said he probably would never use the blinds again. He swore he would. Well guess who now says the blinds need to come down? Thanks, J.C. Penneys for the panels that were so desperately needed. I wish they had been a bit cheaper because I needed the 95" length and you can't get them (and especially the thermal ones) just anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and rich looking, but not light-blocking Unless a drapery is interlined with a truly opaque fabric, lighter colors will not really block the sun. But the cream color was what I wanted for an upstairs bedroom. I imagine that darker shades will naturally block more light. With that said--the look is very rich, and the grommet tops plus new rods gave my mission-style bedroom a much needed update. They look like much more than what I paid, and I'm proud to say that I did the installation myself with no problems. I did the math to figure out how many panels to buy to cover the window, but found that with grommet tops, there is less fullness than with a shirred drapery. You may need more panels to achieve the look you want. Grommet tops can be styled more loosely or more densely on the rod, and it's a matter of personal preference. Now, for anyone who complained about wrinkles...the secret to ironing these is to do it twice and use lots of steam. Press the lining side first, working from the top DOWN. Then do the same on the fabric (room) side. Hang them immediately. Buy these. You won't regret it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very good quality for the price I purchased these for my bedroom in cool white. They are not completely light blocking but they do help and I did not want a dark color. The material is very nice. I did have to steam press them to remove some wrinkles. I got them on sale for about 40 percent off so I am happy with the price and the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, beautiful curtains. Love the way these curtains look on my windows. They look light and airy but have a privacy factor. The light comes in but because they are lined you feel secure. I would recommend these curtains to everyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jenner Cotton Grommet-Top Thermal Curtain The Jenner Thermal curtains are very nice and I believe that they would make a difference in the temperature of a room, which I really cared about, but I did not keep them. I have lots of glass to cover. I ordered 20 panels and only opened one of those. Before ordering, I read the description which sounded to me like they had TWO separate linings. They do not. It is one lining with a rubber-like backing. They were very creased and wrinkled and I just felt like they were too stiff for my taste. Also the fabric is very plain without much texture. I exchanged the panels for the softer, more textured Quinn style, even though it is rated as "energy efficient" rather than thermal. Unfortunately I now find out that the Quinn is on back order, so I have to wait till about the middle of Feb. for my curtains. If you want a quality thermal curtain in a very simple style, I think the Jenner would be great for you. They just weren't what I had in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from was on the fence We had ordered the Royal Velvet Plaza Grommets for another house and we loved them. They are thicker and the Grommets are pretty. Because of color choice or by mistake, I ordered the JCP Jenner Cotton, hung them...looked at them, but still ordered the RVP. Those got in today. In my smaller home, covering French doors to the back, the JCP Jenner are far more pleasant than the heaver Royal Velvet. Side by side, I am more than satisfied with them, and actually love them more for the picture window as the accent curtain (I have blinds on the windows as well, so just got two panels for each side). They are in no way black out curtains. The Royal Velvet would be closer to that. These hang nicely, and in a couple of days, the wrinkles took care of themselves. For my purpose, I love the JCP Jenner. For the bedroom, may go with the Royal Velvet...you can't lose either way, unless you are looking for something to truly darken the room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of compliments I got these panels in white for the master bedroom. Just about everyone who takes a look at the bedroom remodel comments on how much they love these panels. They look very nice. They're very heavy and seem to keep the cold out. I only have one problem. We have side-by-side windows, so I had to hang two curtains side-by-side and they are different lengths. I could move panels around so it wasn't so obvious and the bed hides it from first view. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the two curtains aren't the same length.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality fabric. Purchased this as a valance for a bedroom window. I was pleased with the quality of fabric, construction and durability. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase more for other windows if needed. Color was a bit different from the online picture, but it works.

Blackout or light blocking?

Are the white colored ones room darkening or blackout? Suitable for an infant trying to sleep during the day?
Asked by: dani4man
I purchased the white curtains for that reason and they're rather sheer. Not suitable for an infant trying to sleep during the day.

Would these curtains in white be adequately light blocking for an east facing room if there are 2" white wooden blinds behind them?
