Our March local influencer is a breath of fresh air. Her signature style is feminine, floral and full of color—what a perfect way to welcome springtime! Lauren (Lo) Murphy, a Dallas-based fashion blogger of Murphy’s Law believes fashion should be fun, not intimidating. She graciously has curated her favorite looks from JCPenney that embrace the season and range from garden party gorgeous to dinner party sophisticated.
Ruffles and Glam
Flattering fit-and-flare dress gets a little extra with ruffles cascading all the way from neckline to hem. The wrap style ties in the front, giving an asymmetrical slant to the classic dot pattern. Since pink is Lo’s favorite color, this rose shade is an instant beauty—both girly and powerful at the same time. We’re loving how she bypassed the obvious black shoe choice and chose instead a heeled sandal in shiny platinum. This metallic match-up modernizes the entire outfit.
Dressing in all white is not new, but pairing with natural-hued accessories makes it chic and cool. This Y-neck peplum top has subtle, intricate cross-stitching on both sides of the placket for a twist on the traditional. Its rayon/linen blend keeps you cool and dry in the warmer months. Jeggings in a crisp white will be favorites you’ll wear again and again this year. And, these slip-on raffia mules are must-haves for casual comfort.
Have a “Pretty Woman” moment in this blush-hued polka-dot maxi dress. The halter neckline is a refreshing change from the common strappy sundress. The tie back with keyhole cutout gives you an exit as fabulous as your entrance.
Off-the-Shoulder Style is On-Point
Going to meet friends, running errands or enjoying a leisurely stroll, you’ll appreciate this effortless ensemble for its versatility and resort vibe. Tie-neck floral blouse hangs around the shoulders, giving it bohemian flair. White jeggings are your new go-to, while slip-on canvas sneakers in a chambray fabric with raffia braided trim ties the whole look together.
Dress up and feel sexy and elegant in this off-the-shoulder crepe dress. Its sweetheart neckline has a structured design that ups the luxe. A touch of stretch in the fabric and a side slit give added confidence to dance with ease. Lauren chose this pale blue version (a nod to her new baby boy, perhaps?), but the dress is also available in blush and navy. We think any color of this sheath would make a perfectly dressed guest at a wedding as well. Notice the platinum heels make another appearance here. Bright idea!
Keep it Rosy
We bet you just can’t help but have an upbeat attitude when wearing this faux-wrap maxi dress that’s adorned with oversized rose blooms. Like a watercolor work of art, the breezy chiffon fabric canvases the print masterfully. A tie at the waist defines your silhouette while a side slit keeps the mood romantic. It’s the perfect complement to the budding springtime and all its outdoorsy events.
