Eggnogs
A classic drink that everyone will surely love.
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp. cornstarch
12 large eggs
1 ¼ c. sugar
½ tsp. salt
2qt. whole milk, divided
1 c. brandy or dark rum, optional
2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. heavy or whipping cream
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: In a small bowl, add ½ a cup of cold milk and cornstarch. Combine it and set it aside.
Step 2: Take another large bowl, and mix eggs, sugar, and salt. Whisk it until they blend.
Step 3: In a saucepan, heat 4 cups of milk, add the milk-cornstarch mixture, and stir together.
Step 4: Gradually, add the mixture into the egg mix, ½ a cup at a time, while whisking continuously. Once the entire mixture is combined, transfer it into the original pot and turn the heat from medium to low. Stir constantly until the custard is slightly thick and coats the back of a spoon.
Step 5: Pour custard into a large bowl and stir in brandy or rum, vanilla extract, ground nutmeg, and remaining cold milk. Refrigerate until well chilled for at least 3 hours.
Step 6: Take another small bowl and beat heavy or whipping cream until soft peaks form. With a wire whisk, gently fold the whipping cream into the custard mixture.
Step 7: Pour eggnog into a beverage dispenser. Sprinkle with extra nutmeg for garnish.
Pumpkin Spice White Russian
Who said pumpkin season is over!
INGREDIENTS
¼ c. turbinado sugar
¼ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tbsp. honey
2 oz. vodka
1 oz. Kahlua
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: In a bowl, mix sugar and ¼ a tsp pumpkin pie spice. Put honey in another bowl and dip the rim of the rock glass into the honey, then gently twist in spiced sugar to create a sugared rim.
Step 2: In the rimmed glass, add vodka, Kahlua, and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice. Add ice cubes on top with heavy cream and stir (if needed).
Mocktails
Cranberry-Ginger Shrub
A mouthwatering drink for your Christmas fever!
INGREDIENTS
1 (16 oz.) bag of cranberries
1 c. cider vinegar
½ c. water
½ c. sugar
1 piece peeled and sliced fresh ginger
2 cinnamon sticks
Ice and club soda for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Boil cranberries, vinegar, water, sugar, ginger, and cinnamon on medium heat in a saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer until the berries start to break down for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 2: Once cooled down, strain through a fine wire-mesh strainer and mash the mixture to release liquid. To serve, pour 1 oz. over the ice and top it with club soda in a tall glass.
Paradise City
A sip of paradise – do we need to say more?
INGREDIENTS
5 oz. vanilla syrup
5 oz. passion-fruit puree
1 oz. grapefruit juice
1 oz. cream
2 oz. club soda
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Combine vanilla syrup, passion-fruit puree, grapefruit juice, and cream in a cocktail shaker over ice. Pour club soda into a tall glass and the strainer cocktail shaker mixture slowly, allowing the head of the foam to rise above the rim of the glass. Serve immediately.
