Get a Great Night of Sleep on an Innerspring Mattress
Everyone has different needs when it comes to a comfortable mattress to sleep on, but everyone can agree that it's important to be comfortable. Even then, getting comfortable is different for everyone. One person likes a soft, cushioned mattress while another prefers the solidity of a futon-style mattress. Someone who requires a complex support in a mattress has the best shot at a good night of sleep with innerspring mattresses.
They provide a solid foundation to rest on and have plenty of give as the sleeper moves around during the night. And innerspring mattresses come in different configurations, which means there are a lot of options out there for someone who seeks the perfect support for sleep.
Why an Innerspring Mattress?
Innerspring mattresses feature a layer of coiled springs covered in multiple layers of felt and a fabric finish for protection. The springs themselves are made from tempered steel for longevity, strength, and reliable support. The protective layers separate the sleeper from the springs while offering cushioned comfort. As the sleeper moves around, so do the springs and felt layers. The springs compress to a certain point, then stop to support the body. Some people compare the feeling to sleeping on a cloud as there's no sensation of the coils moving up and down when they move.
An innerspring mattress also has the benefit of absorbing movement when sharing the bed with a partner. The springs underneath the partner absorb the shock of movement and won't transmit it to the rest of the bed. One partner can keep sleeping undisturbed and unaware that his or her partner has been moving around more than usual during the night.
Another advantage to the innerspring mattress is the fact it doesn't need a box spring, making it an economical and affordable option. It is possible to use a box spring with innerspring mattresses for additional shock absorption, but it's not necessary. Those who want a quality night of sleep without spending a lot of money can get it with an innerspring mattress.
Should I Get a Hybrid?
Hybrid innerspring mattresses come with either a pillow or gel top for an additional layer of comfort. They're called hybrids because an innerspring mattress is normally considered to provide sufficient comfort without the need for more padding. However, an extra layer of cushioning on top of the mattress can create the ultimate sleep experience for those who want to have it all. A hybrid offers shock absorption, body support, and alleviates stiffness from aching joints that come about for any number of reasons. Plus, there's the advantage of not having to make much of an effort to get up out of the bed in the morning.
