How long does it take for JCPenney to ship? Does JCPenney use UPS or FedEx?
Standard delivery (3-5 business days) - Most orders are shipped UPS or USPS. Usually, UPS will ring your doorbell then leave the package in a sheltered area. USPS will deliver the package in your mailbox if it fits, or put it by your door.
Expedited delivery (3 business days) - Excludes items shipped direct from the manufacturer. Estimated delivery times will be displayed in checkout. Orders are shipped UPS. UPS will ring your doorbell then leave the package in a sheltered area.

Store delivery - If you choose to have your item shipped to a JCPenney store or JCPenney express center, most orders are ready for pick-up in 4-7 business days. You will be contacted when your order arrives. Your order will be charged to your payment card or account at the time it is shipped. For your protection, please bring the payment card used for payment when picking up your order. Orders are held for 10 days only, so please call the store if you need extra time. After 10 days, merchandise is returned and your card or account credited for the purchase price of the items (shipping and handling charges are non-refundable). Does JCPenney have free shipping?
Orders that qualify for free shipping are shipped our Standard Delivery 3-5 business day method. Eligible customers must select this option in checkout in order to receive free shipping. Free shipping excludes truck-delivered items and may also exclude select manufacturer delivered items based on participation.
Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST will be shipped the next business day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM EST on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or holidays will be shipped the next business day.
What are estimated delivery dates?
The estimated delivery date is based on the selected shipping method. Shipping dates are based on business days, they do not include weekends.
When do we take payment?
We do not charge your credit card until your order has shipped. Additional shipping surcharges may apply to some large and heavy items. This amount is listed at the item level, on the individual item product, detail page, and in checkout. This item surcharge is in addition to standard shipping rates.

Oversized item surcharge
To ensure your order reaches you safely, an additional surcharge may apply to some heavy or bulky items due to size, weight or special handling required. This item surcharge is in addition to standard shipping rates.
The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) requires ground-only shipment of Hazardous Materials due to air shipment restrictions and regulations. Restricted items include aerosols, pressurized spray cans and alcohol-based products (hairspray, nail polish, nail polish remover, shaving cream, and items containing flammable, volatile or corrosive chemicals). These restricted items are not eligible for expedited or overnight shipping.
What if I'm sending a gift?
Some items are shipped in original manufacturer boxes and the product may be displayed on the carton. Plastic JCPenney gift cards are sent by USPS and usually arrive a week after ordering. e-gift cards are emailed to you, within about 12 hours.
What about items shipped from the manufacturer?
Manufacturer-shipped items are sent to you directly from the manufacturer and may take extra delivery time. Check the item's product page for estimated delivery time or call customer service at 1.800.322.1189 for more information.
Trucked furniture and other large items
Some heavy or bulky items cannot be delivered via UPS, USPS or FedEx. These items are delivered via truck. Additional delivery charges of up to $150 may apply and will be reflected at checkout. We will deliver every trucked item in your order to one location whether it is your home, office or dorm, regardless of the number of items. You will be contacted 7 to 14 business days from the time your item is shipped to schedule a delivery appointment. A signature will be required for the delivery confirmation. What are JCPenney deluxe and white glove delivery?
With items delivered via JCP deluxe and white glove delivery, we don't just drop your furniture at the door. We pre-inspect the item before it's delivered, making sure it's perfect for you. Then our experienced deluxe and white glove delivery service team will deliver your new furniture inside your home, where they’ll carefully unpack each item, place it in your room of choice, and assemble as needed. Our deluxe and white glove delivery service team will also remove all packing materials, leaving you with nothing but a beautiful room and your new furniture. Baby Furniture is excluded from deluxe and white glove delivery. JCPenney delivery service experts will: wear shoe covers to protect your floors use blankets during transit remove any remaining furniture packaging from your home wipe down merchandise for a clean finish connect you with the customer service team, just in case you have questions
Ordering a mattress?
Delivery is free on mattresses $699 or more. Mattress Haul Away Service fees are non-refundable.
What happens if I don't pick up my JCP order?
If your order is not picked up within ten (10) days, we will cancel the order and credit the transaction amount to your original method of payment.
Can someone else pick up my JCPenney order?
If someone else will be picking up your order you must designate him/her as an alternative pickup person when ordering. You will be notified by email when your order is ready for pickup or if an item is unavailable at that store. The ready pickup email will include instructions for picking up your item(s).
