JCPenney Shop & Hold
  1. What is Shop & Hold?

    Shop & Hold allows you to shop early on jcp.com for your back to campus essentials and pick up your items on or near your move-in date from the JCPenney store closest to your campus. Simply place an order for Ship to Store and select the store closest to your college. Be sure to use the alternate customer pickup field to let us know who is authorized to pick up the order.

    Once you receive your “Ready for Pickup” email, call our Customer Care team at 800-322-1189 or chat on jcp.com to provide your requested pickup date. Orders can be held until September 9, 2023 at your request.

    NOTE: Orders will process immediately, and your credit card or gift card will be charged within 2-3 business days of order placement. If you do not contact Customer Care to provide a pickup date, orders will be automatically cancelled 10 days after they arrive at the store.

  3. How do I place my Shop & Hold order?

    Add all items you would like to purchase to the cart on jcp.com and choose “Ship to Store”. Select the store closest to your campus during Checkout, prior to entering your payment information. To find the closest JCPenney store, use the “Select a Store” feature on jcp.com and enter your college housing zip code.

  5. How do I select the JCPenney store closest to my campus?

    At checkout, select “Ship to Store” in the Shipping panel. Select “Add New Store” and enter the zip code of your college housing. Select the closest JCPenney store. You can click “Show Details” to access a map and get directions.

  7. Can someone else pick up my Shop & Hold order?

    If someone else will be picking up your order, you must designate him/her as an alternative pickup person when ordering. You cannot add or edit the alternate pickup person after the order is placed.

  9. Are there any items I can’t include in my Shop & Hold order?

    All items eligible to ship to a store can be included in your order.

  11. Is there a fee for Shop & Hold?

    Store Delivery is FREE for purchase amount greater than $25. Store delivery is $3.95 for purchases less than $25.

  13. When will I be charged for my Shop & Hold order?

    Your credit card or gift card will be charged once your order is shipped to the selected store, typically within 2-3 business days.

  15. When will my Shop & Hold order be available for pickup?

    Your order will be processed and shipped shortly after you place the order. Once it arrives at the store, you will receive a “Ready for Pickup” email. To hold the order until your move-in-date, call our Customer Care team at 800-322-1189 or use the chat feature on jcp.com to provide your requested pickup date between now and September 9, 2023.

  17. How do I provide my move-in date for my Shop & Hold order?

    Once you receive your “Ready for Pickup” email, call our Customer Care team at 800-322-1189 or use the chat feature on jcp.com. All that needs to be provided is the date you would like to pick up the order, up to September 9, 2023. Your order will be kept in the store until the hold date you provide.

    You can call our Customer Care team at 800-322-1189 or use the chat feature on jcp.com to request a pickup date between now and September 9, 2023. If you do not contact Customer Care to provide a pickup date, orders will be automatically cancelled 10 days after they arrive at the store.

  21. What if my college move-in date changes?

    To adjust your pickup date, call our Customer Care team at 800-322-1189 or use the chat feature on jcp.com to request a new pickup date, up to September 9, 2023.

  23. What if I need to remove or add an item to my Shop & Hold order?

    Once orders have been processed, changes cannot be made. You can place an order for the additional items, or you can return items no longer needed when you pick up your order.

  25. What if I need to cancel my Shop & Hold order?

    To request that your order be cancelled, call the selected store and request an order cancellation. Orders can be canceled within 30 minutes of purchase by visiting the Order Status page. Sign in or look up your order and select “Cancel Order” next to the order number. You may also call Customer Care at 800-322-1189 for assistance, with consideration that call wait time may extend past the 30-minute cancellation window.
