Sheets are a big part of a reason a bed can be the ultimate comfort destination, giving you the best sleep you have ever had or it can be the reason for a not so great sleep. Finding the perfect bed sheets can almost be as important as a mattress, comforter or pillow. With so many options out there it can be overwhelming and a very daunting task to pick out the right sheets to fit your needs. That is why we have gathered up our best tips and expertise in this guide to help you in taking the stress out of shopping for new sheets.

Size & Fit

The sheet size guide below is a great starting point to find your perfect sheets. First measure your mattress thickness, including any toppers, for the perfect match. Pockets depth matters too- Standard (up to 14 inches) or deep (16-18” inches) embrace those plush mattresses. Think of it like tailoring—too tight isn't comfy, too loose is a wrinkle party! A well-fitted sheet not only makes your bed look stylish but also ensures a sweet, uninterrupted night's sleep.

Consider the Weave

The construction of a fabric is formed by the interlacing of two yarns. The two most common types of weaves to consider when shopping for new sheets are sateen and percale.

Percale Weave

A closely- woven, plain-weave fabric that is smooth has a matte appearance. Percale has a cool and crisp finish and is great for all seasons as it is light weight and breathable. It is great for hot sleepers and warm climates.

Sateen Weave

A weave in which yarn will float across four or more different yarns, the fabric is softer and drapier and is suitable for all seasons. Smooth surface and silky, softness, this type of sheet can give you a higher thread count than percale.

Thread Count

Thread count refers to the number of threads woven into a single square inch of fabric. Typically, a higher thread count means your getting a dencer and smoother-feeling sheet, while a lower thread count can be more soft and airy. However, thread count is not the only indicator of quality in sheets and a higher thread count does not directly translate into a higher-quality sheet. Thread count along with the sheet's quality, weave type and finish all have an impact on the sheet's overall softness and durability.
